Is this going to be another anti-pit thread. Of all folks, people who respect the rights of firearms, how can FReepers be so nanny-esc about Pit Bulls?
“...how can FReepers be so nanny-esc about Pit Bulls?”
There’s nothing nanny-anything about us or anyone else who is in opposition to the breed. There are countless, endless news stories about murderous pit bulls who’ve attacked, maimed or outright killed other dogs, children, adults and every other manner of living thing imaginable.
In the current political lexicon ‘nanny’ refers to things dims want the government involved with that most of us feel we can or should handle by ourselves. Pit bulls hardly fit within those parameters.
Or are you saying you could ‘handle’ a raging, homicidal pit bull all by yourself?
Firearms don't go off by themselves if you fail to rub behind their sights every day...
How many times do we see stories about cocker spaniels ripping people to shreads? Pit bulls are a wierd breed and may not be compatable with a civilized society.
Well, because, first of all, the Second Amendment does not say anything about pit bulls.
Original intent and all that.
Secondly, no matter how poorly you take care of your firarms, your firearms will never break out of your gun cabinet, run out the front door, jump the fence and kill your neighbor's dog or kid.
GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE. PEOPLE DO.
PIT BULLS KILL PEOPLE. ALL BY THEMSELVES.
p.s. I have a new 7 month old puppy. He is a German Shepard/Huskie mix and he weighs nearly 60 lbs. and is the biggest “puppy” I’ve ever seen. His name is Sgt. Baxter and he’s a handful! You should see him in Puppy Training 101, he’s the same age as the teacup breeds but he doesn’t get any slack from those dreadful owners. They’re all “Ewwww” and “Stay Away”. I also have a 15 yr. old Shi Tzu, so I think I understand this issue. The people who had Sgt. Baxter tried to have him put down because he was so big and wild. He’s my 6th rescue dog, and I’m loving every minute!
Your logic isn't sound. A gun sitting on the table isn't going to go off on its own. A pit bull lying on the floor might.
I'll post my standard comment. The only two legitimate reasons for owning a pit bull are 1)to protect your meth lab or 2)if you are in the dog fighting industry.
My Glock can’t get up and bite some one by it self, BTW I showed my glock to a pit owner the other day who wouldn’t leash his.
