About two weeks ago, Mr. Prairie received a phone call from a dear friend from college days. We keep up usually at Christmas and very occasional visits so a phone call was a little out of the ordinary.

He called to let us know that his sister had died very unexpectedly. Unsure why, no history etc.

I know it’s hard Jim. Be sure and allow yourself that needed time, space and permission to grieve. Be extra good to yourself.

I’m thinking of you and keeping you and your family in my prayers.

I've been out of the loop today...still in shock that we got a 10 minute fast and furious shower of RAIN!

Good to hear that you are better, Toby, and sounding more like yourself. Good news, too, Duke, about your job and Jack's smooth entrance to a new school.

Why am I not surprized about the Dems cheating on that vote in the House last night? Republican shouts of "Shame!" fell on deaf ears because they don't understand that word.

Prayers continuing for you and your family, Dog.

Many of my Garden Sluts were frozen off and killed during the late spring hard freeze we endured. But a few are blooming. Next year they will be back to mulitplying like crazy, I’m sure.

The wild prairie daisy is coming back from seed. I thought I’d lost it all in the freeze.

Unfortunately, the perennial geraniums did not come back. Only one, out of more than a dozen, is left, and it was so small, and so damaged from the freeze that it didn’t bloom this spring.

Okay, so I’ve chugged down the Daquari, and am wondering what sort of peach drink I can beg off of Cm.

I’ve had a rough day. 3 Boys since 7:00 am. Late afternoon we played in the hose. Granny got just as wet as the kids.

I’m taking extra meds attempting to chase the jaw pain. No luck, yet. Next week, I will call the dentist to see if he will xray it. Maybe it isn’t even my teeth. Who knows?

What in the world are Garden Sluts, Gran? Some kind of plants/flowers, I gather, but I have never heard of them/it. Would be interested in knowing more...and adding some to my own garden.

Might as well make more Daquaris, lysie...IG needs another one and I'll thank ya kindly for one too. LOL

It could be a clogged sinus cavity pressing down into your jaw. That happened to my sister. I’m sorry you’re in pain. I hope the relaxers start to work soon.

The first of this week there was a big article on the Phoenix Lander in our Decatur Daily newspaper. Apparently part of the Delta II was put together here, but the first thing I thought was that you had been involved in some way — and, sure enough, you were.

Thanks for the links and for your continued dedication to the space program.
