Good morning!
A coolish morning here: Global Warming strikes again!
( I really should do better to come up with something more substantial for this space....)
>>Did you happen to get up to Flaming Gorge area in n.e. Utah?
No....just the five Nat’l parks
(PS - there were fires up north - Salt Lake Area )
Good morning to all from Hoosierland.........it is overcast this morning.
My company left yesterday and I have been playing catch-up ever since......How is everyone?
I had a wonderful time with my grandkids....they are such nice teen-agers.
I loved your photos from your trip out west....that is such beautiful country.
Hi there, Bee....rain here...a good soaking rain, I think...
Thanks for replying Raven. That part of Utah is the only area I've seen.
Stephen Hayes has written a book: Cheney, and he'll be on Bennett's show in awhile to discuss it.
Breakfast! YUM!!
That is a good looking breakfast, isn’t it?
Thanks, Lysie.
Morally paralyzed Tom Sowell
Living up to Expectatiions CNN's Debate questions
I heard some of the questions via Hewitt's show last night...Pretty pathetic questions and answers.
I half expected someone to ask: I live in a s.w. Cleveland suburb, and my trash collection service is awful. What would you do about it if you became President?
Stephen Hayes, where have I heard his name before?
I will try to listen to Bennett’s show, should be interesting. Thanks for the info.
Good Morning.
Hayes is a conservative writer...he covers national security issues, for one thing, Bee. I think he’s also written about Jimmy Carter, but not quite sure...it’s still early for my brain cells!
Good morning.
Please let us know what Hadley had to say, Molly. Wish we still got the Bennett show around here. Really liked it. He’s always so calm and reasonable.
Thanks for the start, Molly, and the breakfast, lysie.
Everyone feeling okay out there?
The EAA Airventure in Oshkosh is underway. The interesting news is that an old Air Corps trainer, A-T 6 made an emergency landing along Hwy. 41 on Sunday afternoon. (A police car caught it on the video cam. Extraordinary.) The pilot had only 90 seconds to decide what to do when his engine cut out. 41 is an expressway, and it was busy.
He made a safe landing, and everyone was fine. They closed a lane of traffic so that the airplane could be safely removed.
I'll be heading to the EAA Airventure on Friday. Conferences this week keep me busy until Thursday.
Hayes writes for the Weekly STandard and an earlier book exposed the connection between AQ and Saddam.
Hi NY! How's lovely Wisconsin this a.m.?
I mean HAYES!
67 and a bit humid, but not bad. We are dryer than a desert snake, and are praying for some rain.
Maybe Thursday evening.
I understand that when Eisenhower developed the interstate system that it was mandated two out of every 5 miles of the interstates had to be straight enough to land an airplane. This was part of the preparations in case we were at war and the regular airports were unusable.
I haven’t checked the story myself, but I heard it long ago.
Love the Grand Canyon.
I always think of the cartoon where a boy had disobeyed his father while camping near the Grand Canyon. As a punishment for the disobedience, the father hands his son a shovel, points to the Grand Canyon and says, "Fill it in!"
I am sure the song, "Coming in on a wing and a prayer" was going through his head.
