Good morning!
A coolish morning here: Global Warming strikes again!
( I really should do better to come up with something more substantial for this space....)
The day is going very well. I have the rose garden entirely weeded. I’m going to apply round-up on the bricks in just a few minutes. I’ll weed the sun dial garden in a few minutes. The power company came out and cut the pine branches which dangled all week-end across our power lines. And I’ll work on the topiary a bit. And I was able to lay out in the sun for two hours today.
Yes. I’m getting a bunch of things done.
No. I haven’t gone to the farm. I am taking a break from that. I end up with my hips hurting so bad (when I go) that I don’t want to work or do anything the rest of the day. I’ll rethink this next week.
Maybe it is just the amount of weight my hips have to support. I’m working on it.
Just a request, if you will. DON’T HOG ALL THAT RAIN. SEND SOME UP HERE TO ME!!!!!
Thank you.
Trying to ‘run away’ from the caboose?
Hi toots.
I empathize with your neck thingie.
I went to the drs friday and he took some blood and I am to get an xray this week.
my knee is now swollen and hard to walk on..
still doing pain-meds.
Hi K.! Enjoyed your travel report. It must be beautiful up there.
A little bit of everything today. Working on getting the supply closet ready to go for next week's homeless family operation. Another hour of organizing the linens should do it. Then some shopping...we're short a couple of mattress pads, somehow...
You guys on the east coast have that low moving inland, right? It's affecting us, too, but only cloudy....no rain...
Did you happen to get up to Flaming Gorge area in n.e. Utah? That place is very beautiful
Hello...Its like a fall day here....windy and cool.
We have 6 1/2 acre's where out church is and are going to make it available for them to build on a warehouse for churches in Central America, foods , clothes, etc for the state Christians to give to.
Gotta tell you. our little church is new, seats 125 and after two months, filled every Sunday morning and evening. Going to have to go to two services on Sunday mornings and we are already talking of adding on or building a bigger church. Leaning to the latter. I don’t think I have ever enjoyed a fellowship we have like I do this one.
Keep plugging away with the jokes Toby you may be the next Shecky Greene.
Toby, that's cool about your church! Storage space is hard to find, so that's an excellent way to help!
You didn’t get rain over the weekend??
Nope, nary a drop here. It went all around us, but none here. Pop-up showers in the summer. Highly unpredictable. I’ve finished with the sundial garden and the round-up. I’m resting my back before I go down to work on the topiary. I’m doing my best to avoid Freeper General. I hope y’all feel better soon, Neets, lysie.
I'm so happy you are getting the work done that you want.
When we do that it gives us great pride.
Molly, expect a FReepmail sometime tomorrow.

That is too funny. Really, really funny.
I don’t mind camping out. But luxury is good.
Unless someone pops up to speak to me, I think I’ll head to bed. I have rose thorns and blackberry thorns in my fingers and hands.
Guitar Picks.
Most guitar players stick their pick under the strings near the top of the neck. Usually when I pick up someone else’s guitar, I have my own pick. I have been known to put the guitar owners pick in my shirt pocket. Only to have it found when it is time to to wash my shirt.
I have upon occasion taken my shirt off and tossed it on the bed while I am in the process of undressing. A time or two the acquired pick was found in the bed clothes rather than in my shirt or pants pocket.
Most of the time I remember to take the pick out of my pocket and replace in in the strings of the borrowed guitar. I have upon occasion forgotten.
My best friend plays lead guitar at the Jamboree. During the intermission it is not uncommon for someone back stage to want to go over the intro to get the right tempo for one of their second half songs. Since Luke’s Gretsch is out on the stage, he will grab my Martin Flat Top from its stand back stage to go over the song with the singer.
Several times I have picked up my guitar to get ready for my second half appearance only to find that my flat pick is gone and has been replaced by one of his thumb picks.
I always carry 3 or 4 of my flat picks in my wallet... just in case it gets replaced by a thumb pick or is gone for good. Since the temperature in the Paxton Theater is almost always different from the temperature in my car, a guitar tuned for the first half is rarely in tune for second. If Luke plays my guitar during the intermission, it is always in tune for the second half of the show.. even if my pick is missing.
The lead picker at the Jamboree is Luke McCoy. He is the grandson of the primary McCoy in the famous Hatfield and McCoy feud.
Luke’s father was William Greenville McCoy Jr. William Greenville McCoy Sr’s murder in the feud is cataloged in documents on file at the Smithsonian institution in D.C.
Luke’s Grandmother and her less than one year old son, left West Va for Ohio. She feared the Hatfields would come back and kill her just as they had done to her husband.
The guy who runs the Jamboree said I could liven up the show if I just changed my name to Ray Hatfield. He said changing my name could give the show a real shot of publicity. He did not mention that the shot would be in my back.
