Woman to be U.S. president -- on '24'

LOS ANGELES, July 22 (UPI) -- Actress Cherry Jones may play the next president on the hit U.S. television show "24."
Sources say Jones will play the U.S. commander in chief on the action thriller, which has long been toying with the idea of a female president, the Hollywood Reporter said Sunday.
The Fox network would not confirm the report. Jones would be the first major cast member added to the upcoming seventh season.
Imagine TV and 20th Century Fox TV were forced to delay shooting until August when plans to set the season in Africa fell through.
The decision to cast a woman as president is even more interesting in light of the fact that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., is the front-runner for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, the Reporter said.
Jones' credits include "The West Wing" and "The Perfect Storm."
Well, she’s prettier than Hillary.
So a West Wing alumnus is going to try and pave the road for She Who Must Not Be Named...
And the sheep will believe. They saw it on TV...
24 officially “jumps the shark.”
Who the hell is Cherry Jones?? I never heard of her.
Ugh. Let’s just hope life in November 2008 doesn’t imitate art.
Always wondered how a weak guy like Wayne got elected. Anyone want a preview of an Obama Administration, check out the Wayne Palmer administration.
It jumped the shark already.
President Jack Bauer, perhaps?
Oh what a novel concept this is, like its never been thought of before in all of history .... these Hollywood droids breathlessly congratulating each other over being way ahead of the curve sociopolitically. NOT!
/cynical sarcasm off
I seem to recall reading that Jack has told CTU where to go and will no longer work for the government on Day 7. With any luck, this pseudo-Hildebeast will turn out to have something to do with it.
(Hey, I can wish, can't I?)
Never watched the show but my dad loves it and he’ll have some explicits to say about this.
Already decided not to watch the new 24 because of Kiefer’s “global warming is all our fault” rants. This just buries it another layer deeper that I won’t ever see it.
another example of the touted “dinosaur media”
helping to elect hillary.

Geena Davis should best be remembered by the film “Earth Girls are Easy.” Could be a biography for her.
