Speaking of lamps....I just installed a long awaited light fixture on a fan in our living room. Alas...I neglected to inform the wife before she bought it that the florescent bulbs that come with the lamp won’t work with the dimmer switch on the wall...

Oooops. We don’t have wiring for a ceiling fixture in our living room. It’s supposed to be “formal,” but mostly it’s tiny.

And I have an IR movement sensor fixture in the garage, awaiting installment on the back deck.

You know, it’s funny....that lamp sat for a month, while I found every excuse in the books not to put it up. But once I got on the job, 10 minutes and it was done.
Procrastination is not my friend.

Speaking of electronics, they blew the breaker in part of the upstairs. I wonder if Anoreth re-tripped the right switch ...

Our rule of the house is that EVERY room gets a ceiling fan, even if I have to crawl through the attic to install a support stud to do it (note: my attic is filled with that loose blown paper insulation—at 100+ degrees, every time I exit, I bring about 10 pounds of it down stuck on me).

Oy! I just discovered that the power is out in both girls’ bedrooms, but I can’t figure out which breaker is off. When Elen and Sally said their fan wasn’t working, I figured the fan was shorted out, but Anoreth doesn’t have power, either.
Der Prinz isn’t answering his cell phone, and I don’t have a land-line number, because “You can always reach me on my cell.” (Fill in appropriate expletives regarding modern technology and people who aren’t here when the technology isn’t working.)
If I don’t hear from him about it in the morning, I’ll go across the street or next door and find a man who can fix something. Bleepin’ FReep!

You can try flipping all the breakers on and off....
The tripped breaker is supposed to be in the center position, but a good way to tell is if you try to push the breaker closed and it is a little “squishy”, meaning it has tripped.
Caution: turn off all the lights and appliances in the affected area before trying to close the breaker....the overload may trip it again.

Well, Howdy!
What a pleasant surprise!! Welcome! ;o])
Well if it isn't the one fair maiden in the land of the undead! How is it?

No, candidates are still being accepted (the Admin Gods have been leaving me choices this month) but preparations are on the ToDo list for the afternoon.
It's getting late, Sion. My suggestion: something to do with helper monkeys going on a rampage. Just a suggestion.

Some people just walk away, rather than humble themselves.
I'm sure you're referring to those who have to write down their many passwords, of which I am not one. My mind is like a steel, uh, something-or-other...You know what I mean!
To: NicknamedBob; HKMk23
More likely, the old remembered password just doesn't work anymore.
This old frog has yet to croak, HKM. Bob is partially right, though I didn't forget the password so much as lacked enough interest to remember it. Frankly, the plastic partisanship on FR disgusted me. After the '06 elections, I started thinking that maybe some people were forced to come around. I really can't tell yet, but hope for the best.
Do I need to do an obligatory Kim Jong Il post, just to jostle some cogs?
It's funny that you mentioned Bill O'Reilly, HKM--he may be the "new" Kim Jong Il on FR, if I have anything to do with it. I listen to the show and watch him daily. My BOR impression is getting quite good, pinhead.

Good morning! My FRiends on the North Carolina board told me how to find the right circuit breaker, and it was night anyway, so the girls survived without power. Anoreth was whiny about the ceiling fan’s not working, but she was under a blanket this morning, anyway.
Sigh.
