Hi, 'Face!

Just a drive-by here. Still at work, with a church event coming up for the evening.

We just had a whopper thunderstorm, around 1-1/2” of rain, and the power was out for almost 3 hours. We were just settling in around the candelabra to read, draw and play the guitar until bedtime when the lights (and the ac!) came back on.

I wouldn’t have minded going to bed in the dark, if I’d been sure we would get electricity back before everything in the refrigerator and freezers was lost.

Sometime in the fall, when we don’t have the ac running, I think we’ll have a lights-out event and sit around like our ancestors :-).

Semicolitis? Not this guy; he had advanced multiple commacitis.

"Aha! A victim of Semicolitis, with Delusions of Faulknerie."

I can sympathize. Even my computer won't read my stuff.

"... consider shortening ..."

No way! 'Face would never forgive me!

Oh, that’s even worse! Semicolons at least give you a new starting point to attach all the dependent clauses.

You don’t have Faulknerie, Bob, just an occasional comma-splice.

True. With this guy, even his dependent clauses had dependents of their own. Call it “multi-generational sentence structure”.

Sorry about the delay, Bob. I can look at it next week, while Der Prinz is out of town.

Call it “multi-generational sentence structure”.

Oooh, that's a good one. I'll use it on the Typso and Allied Verbal Mayhem ping list, if I find a good example on FR.

I was reviewing some of the earlier history of the Undead Thread, which is a useful thing to do if one wishes to remain current in the continuing discourse, when I noticed that a strange diminution (a reduction) in content is apparently at work, limiting the topics, such as they are, to inanitiies about diet and health, relatives and friends, and all the ubiquitous pets that infest our lives with drudgery designed as loving tasks to be performed that ostensibly benefit us in some unimaginable fashion, and that many of the more esoteric search engine troopers of the Undead Thread have decamped on a more or less permanent fashion, perhaps finding greener pastures in which to ruminate on the oddities of the Universe, or possibly seeking a more luminous enchantment for their observations as they scan an ever-widening array of cosmic possibilities.

Would you repeat the question?

Just because you mix your metaphors dose not cause you not to be concise in a run on sentence about what you met her for.

I, also, have observed the same, and find it a source of concern that so many seemingly-former denizens of these virtually space-borne halls have, for whatever reason, or reasons, not felt compelled to refresh the appearance of their respective member identifiers among the ranks of those affixed to the posts of the few that herein more regularly appear.

Meanwhile, Professor David Lambuth turns in his grave.

"We’re tired, Bob."

An eight-day week will do that to you. Why couldn't you have named the cat "Respite"?
