Teen Girls Accused Of Setting Kitten Ablaze.
COTATI, Calif. -- A three-month-old kitten is fighting for his life after allegedly being set afire by two teenage girls last week.
The male shorthaired kitten, named Adam, received second- and third-degree burns over 75 percent of its body and was being treated at an animal hospital in Cotati, in Northern California's Sonoma County, officials said.
The kitten has undergone two surgeries and had its tail and the tips of its ears amputated.
Two girls have been charged with cruelty to animals in connection with the case. They were arrested last Friday after allegedly pouring flammable liquid on the cat, only 8 weeks old at the time and setting it on fire.
A boy and his friend said they saw the smoke and heard the cat shrieking while the girls laughed.
The girls are being held in Sonoma County's Juvenile Hall. The maximum penalty carried by the charges against them is three years of confinement.
Thanks for the update.
They need to put the girls to sleep - they’re broken and will never get better. Let ‘em live and they’ll somebody, someday.
Nothing is working. I guess what I need to know from some person who knows is how to do a cut and paste of a picture that doesn’t come from a link but is merely imbedded in an email that was sent to me from another person with no link as to where that person got it from. Can one cut and paste a picture into a FR thread that is just a pic with no link. Anyone out there in the world know? Or is it not possible.
No, they are not.
I'm curious, where did you get that quote?
Thank you for that video after such a horror story that lead to it.
I love hearing Adam’s purr motor going. Pretty mellow little guy who doesn’t mind a belly rub.
Not possible. Has to be hosted on the web first, like at Hotmail/MSN, Snapfish, Photobucket ... several free pic hosting sites exist.
Is it possible to cut and paste a pic in an e-mail and somehow get it into Photobucket, etc.? Or is that impossible too?
Yes, they are.
The pic hosting sites, or the one that I used, have an uploader utility that you download to your puter. That utility the photo from your hard drive to the web site.
So, from the email with the pic, you R-click the file and Save As into My Pictures (or wherever you want to save it, but make note of where you saved it).
After you’ve registered with (for example) Photobucket, tell it to upload pictures. It being your first time doing so, it should ask permission to load its picture upload utility onto your puter. If you trust the site, go ahead and do so.
When it’s ready to upload your picture, it will give you an option to browse your hard drive. This is where you need to recall where you saved the photo file.
Once the photo has completed uploading to the web host, follow the directions provided in the FR HTML Sandbox thread like you have been to post it here where all can see it.
You’re welcome, and yep, the little guy was purring like a chainsaw!
0h good, there seems to be a way to get the pic on FR. A thousand thank you’s or so. I will try it tomorrow. Am too tired now. If it works, I will sing your praises on this thread. Thanks again.
Please add me to your list.
You’re added.
John Douglas, essentially the founder of the FBI's ISU (profiling unit) identified a triad of serial killer behaviors:
1. animal torture/mutilation
2. arson/fire starting
3. latent bedwetting (into the teen years)
In his extensive interviews with serial killers, Douglas noted that virtually without exception, serial killers had at least two of these behaviors in their histories. Animal torture by fire scores these girls a twofer.
However, this little guy seems to have quite a will to live--and he seems to have pulled through very well, as evidenced on the latest video, which shows him playing and purring up a storm. Bravo for Adam the wonder kitty!
I’m inclined to agree with you. The resources spent on the cat should have gone to someone needing medical attention. But then perhaps the vets are doing the work for free in which case no one would have been helped.
Anyone know if the vets are billing for their services to save the cat’s life?
Agree...
