Teen Girls Accused Of Setting Kitten Ablaze.
COTATI, Calif. -- A three-month-old kitten is fighting for his life after allegedly being set afire by two teenage girls last week.
The male shorthaired kitten, named Adam, received second- and third-degree burns over 75 percent of its body and was being treated at an animal hospital in Cotati, in Northern California's Sonoma County, officials said.
The kitten has undergone two surgeries and had its tail and the tips of its ears amputated.
Two girls have been charged with cruelty to animals in connection with the case. They were arrested last Friday after allegedly pouring flammable liquid on the cat, only 8 weeks old at the time and setting it on fire.
A boy and his friend said they saw the smoke and heard the cat shrieking while the girls laughed.
The girls are being held in Sonoma County's Juvenile Hall. The maximum penalty carried by the charges against them is three years of confinement.
Makes me wonder who is paying this vet bill. Taxpayers?
How about we place them under an industrial size freezer until the trial?
Why do you want to burn your two little kittens?
If young women are not taught to respect the life inside them, why should they respect a kitten?
Reporters always put down what these services WOULD have cost, if the doctors and nurses had actually charge for them. I would imagine the true cost is very low - just medical supplies and medicine. The vet surgeon bill would alone been in the thousands and she is donating that time and expense. Most of the rest is probably free too.
I can’t imagine those injuries were be as excruciating as burns and skin grafts. Big difference there.
Our neighbors cat got hit, well, rolled over, by a car. The driver slowed down because of the stop sign and the cat ran right out under his tires. What a mess. There wasn’t anyway of saving squashed. Too many internal injuries. They had it put down.
Lol. It happens to all of us :)
Some horrid person/s tried to carve a tortoise out of it's shell recently. Don't know if it's still alive, or not. Lost it's legs, IIRC. Sick world. We had a pet raven once. Tried to teach it to say "never more". It sure could mimic my granddaughter's temper tantrums to a tee :-) Jack flew away one day, and we still hope he/she is alright.
First, stop attacking me personally, you’re violating the posting rules.
Second, did you read my post? Clearly you did not. I explicitly stated that humans and animals are not the same. “God didn’t make animals”? What Bible do you read from may I ask?
I’m a Clinton supporter? So you’ve decided to make up facts now?
Yes, a broad view of respect for the sanctity of life is oooooh so liberal. I’m not alone in my views on this thread. I suppose we’re all liberals lurking here (as I’m certain my posting history reflects /sar) simply because some of us believe God created animals as well as humans and think an animal’s life is worth saving. That’s some real radical thinking!
Don’t respond to me any more please. Your arrogance coupled with your ignorance, presumptions, and personal attacks are near bringing out the worst in me and you’re simply not worth it.
Your sort of thinking is what leads some kids to do this crap. It’s ok sally, it’s only an animal, torch that kitty!
I would that cat home in a second.
Dogfigts, girl fights, "ultimate fighting" competitions....
Got anything on this, quix?
No, not equal. I value human life more.
Animal shelters put down how many cats on a daily basis because they can't afford to feed or keep them. This simply seems like a large expenditure for one cat.
BTW, I have three month old kittens right now.
Good PR for the doc. High visibility for very little cost.
Correction
Take that cat home in a second.
Look at how Dahmer turned out. First torturing animals and then killing and sodomizing corpses.
I love my kittens.
Huh?
\ Or the life of the sick and elderly.
What happened in Florida will horrify me forever.
