Tha’s ok, I remembered what to do.
Evening. The wildfires here in Utah are scary, especially the one by Fillmore. It is the largest fire in Utah history. It leapt over I-15, the major freeway through Utah. The fire has already burned over 300,000 acres, about half the size of Salt Lake valley.
I went to Bryce Canyon last week with my friends and some of my family. Right outside Bryce Canyon is a hotel called Ruby’s Inn. And rodeo stands. At 10 pm, the fireworks show started. They fired the fireworks off at the edge of a field. The show was spectacular, considering what a small population this area has. And then my nephew’s wife pointed to the right, and said “Look at the fire”. Some embers from the fireworks had fallen into the field right in front of us and started a fire. It spread pretty quickly, but after 5 minutes the fire department showed up and extinguished the fire. (We couldn’t decide whether to watch the firemen at work or the fireworks.)
Then towards the end a firework went off prematurely, very close to the ground. And started another fire. By this time the first fire was out, so the fire engine drove around the block and put out the other fire. It is very dry all over Utah.
We had a great time at Bryce Canyon, except it was about 10 degrees above normal (average 90 instead of 80.) I didn’t do as much hiking as I wanted to because of the heat, and because I had a big ole blister on my left foot. We’re going to go back in the fall or next spring and hike the rim (10 to 11 mile hike.) We went on some very short hikes and the views were spectacular.
And I think I am allergic to the sunblock and the sun. I have a rash wherever I put on sunscreen and the sun got me. I have a dr’s appointment on Wednesday, hopefully I won’t itch to death before then. :)
And my bad luck continues. I broke a top left molar a week ago Saturday. I spent 3 hours in the dentist’s chair last Monday, getting a root canal and a crown. Then this morning I went back, thinking he was going to put on the permanent crown. Nope. I spent another 2 hours in the chair while he built up the molar and put a temporary crown on. I go back in 2 weeks for the permanent crown. Then I get to have my teeth cleaned and a full checkup. Hopefully nothing else is wrong with my teeth.
Like I told my mom, if I didn’t have bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck at all. LOL.
I just released a new CD titled
I am still a featured singer at the Paint Valley Jamboree.
The band is as good as anything out of Nashville and is better than anything except the top studio musicians in Nashville. The steel player,Todd Brandenburg is as good as Hal Ruggs and nearly as good as Buddy Emmons. The lead player, Luke McCoy is fantastic. He is a great Jazz guitarist as well. That is what Luke and I play for fun. We play and sing country for money.
I have also written several new songs. Judging from the Jamboree audience reaction perhaps two or three of them have some commercial potential.
I just wrote a new column about what life has taught me about eating and diet, general health and some reasons I believe I have beaten cancer one more time. I attribute my current very good condition to disobeying three doctors orders.
Had I allowed the doctors to do the prescribed treatments and taken the prescribed medicine, I would be either mentally retarded and/or dead. I certainly would not be alive and in good physical and mental health I currently enjoy.
I am alive and well after 10 long and fearful months of disobeying doctors orders.

We got a little rain last night. Hoping for more.
That is going to feed all of us...:-)
I am busy with preparations for my niece's shower this Sunday. Anyone invited under the age of 40 has NOT RSVP'd, although they are coming (heard through the grapevine). Sigh. Anyway, everyone have a great week! Our heat is supposed to go away on Thursday. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Good morning to all!
Jim, the US Embassy has joined with the Aussies and issuing an elevated terror alert for my area. This isn’t really a change. We have been under terror alerts the entire time I’ve been over there, I think.
At the farm yesterday all the mature volunteers laughed when commenting on my hair. You see, I had it cut last week. I investigated having LASIK surgery done. At $300 per eye (for some patients), the surgery would pay for itself in about 2 glasses prescriptions. But, I don’t fit into the category of “some patients.” My eyes would cost about $2000 to do. EACH! So, not wanting to finance $4000 surgery like this, and believe me, I am very disappointed, I had my hair cut instead.
I feel better now.
Although I’m still disappointed.
Good morning, sweetheart!
Tell me about your new do!
Now, back to you....knock it off with the tooth and rash... :-). Seriously, get well soon and stay that way for many , many months/years!
Ducking...I forgot to RSVP to a recent wedding.
Thanks for that, I am hungry this morning.
Pssstt...mornin
I’m cutting my hair too.
The letting it grow out thingie just isn’t working out.
Gonna watch the AllStar game? Our team is driving us crazy. Cripes, they had what?..5-6 errors in one game? Driving us nuts...totally...(That's my valley girl impression.) Ewww!!
Perhaps this will get your attention. :-)
Morning....very hot here already. Going out to water the flowers and tomatoes before it gets to bad.
Warm and sticky today, but a strong cold front is heading into our area this afternoon. (It's coming, Jane!)
Heard on the news that it snowed yesterday in Buenos Aires for the first time in 90 years.
