With all the food scares out there, it reminded me of a couple of years back we went to British Columbia skiing and I bought some frozen chicken fingers (who knew chickens had them?) and when I got back to where we were staying I noticed the chicken was from Thailand. I have nothing against them, but why did Canada have to import chicken from there? I tossed them out. Out here, we basically have tiger shrimp ( I am from the east coast so I know about gulf stream shrimp) and now I find out they are farm raised in Thailand. That does it for me with them. At least we get lots of fresh salmon and halibut from Alaska and local salmon. I am now checking where my food sources are coming from. I think we all need to boycott chinese goods like americans did the french winees after Sept. 11th. There, rant over.
What have the Dems been up to? It’s quiet out there
lysie, I’m starving. What a great looking breakfast.
I love chicken fried steak!
The great thing about living here in Wisconsin is getting lots of German sausages. Buying bratwursts (Brats to us local yokels) is a time honored tradition in Wisconsin during the summertime.
We know that they are made right here, so we don't expect to find imports, and we don't.
Lysie always gets us going. Dang-nab-it I love looking at her breakfasts.
Usually during the school year I'll grab a yogurt and banana for breakfast, before heading off to school. During the week the family will enjoy a Lysie style breakfast after church on Sunday.
Did you hear the story about the pastor who got a stand in organist for the upcoming service on Sunday?
He wasn't happy about it, but went through the whole service with the young man. He did however tell him that things were going to get a little dicey, as he had to break it to the congregation that they would going to need to come up with another $50.000 dollars to replace the old roof. The estimates had been too low.
He asked the young organist if he could think of something inspirational to play after he broke the news. The young organist said he would try and think of something to play that was appropriate.
Sunday came along and the service went flawlessly. When it was time for the announcement by the pastor, he told the congregation, "The estimates for the new roof are too low, and we need to come up with an additional $50.000 to cover the costs." "Now who will stand up right now and pledge a thousand dollars each to help with this building project?"
At that point the young organist played the Star Spangled Banner!
Chilly morning, here.
Whatever it is , they are up to no good.
The weather is going to be perfect for the weekend, and we have our big Riverfront Rendezvous. (Our 4th of July celebration.) Am working, but will get time to get over there with my family.
At least I accomplished something this morning. ; )
Good morning!
The RATS are plotting their next nefarious scheme. They’re a little stunned and are in a bit of disarray after the two major setbacks handed them this week.
But they’re not gone yet. They’’re just regrouping.
I am thinking of starting a thread entitled: LIST THE WAYS THE RATS ARE LIKE THE BORG! I got the inspiration from someone here (ABG?), but the thought can be developed further.
It’s not dead yet. I’m still here.
Rave, one more thing. I’m a bit closer to you today. I’m in Choo Choo City for the weekend. Chattavegas!
Rats are like Borg?
B'jorn Borg?
No, the Borg as in an alien hybrid race, half human and half machine. They showed up on Star Trek, the Next Generation. You can’t kill them. They regenerate. They are known for saying, “You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.”
List ways?
McCain Feingold Act
Fairness Doctrine
Immigration Bill
Well actually I was thinking that
they both plan on assimilating all non-Borg/Rat
they are not fully human
They cannot comprehend any way of life which isn’t theirs
They drive cars into ponds, with a female passenger inside, and then don't report it until the following day.
They have no regard for life.
They use people and things to suit their own agenda.
