I was trying to put some pure acetone which I just bought for 5 dollars for 32oz into my car, and i only had about a gallon of gas inside so i was putting about 6 ml worth and i used a medicine measuring cup lil thing ontop of medicine bottles and as i was walkin to the car the acetone started coming out and it had ate through the bottom of the cup thing!. I have a 1994 cadillac fleetwood and it has the 5.7 LT1 engine in it do you think I will get a drastic improvement in mpg efficiency?

I’m no expert but it sounds like a really stupid thing to do.

Great idea. Your gas milage will increase greatly once the Fleetwood craps out on you and you have to ride the bus.

This is far too funny to be zotted.

You could have bought another gallon of gas, then you would have had two gallons and been able to travel twice as far.

Many people are mixing acetone with their gas. They say it improves the mpg.

I have a 1994 cadillac fleetwood and it has the 5.7 LT1 engine in it do you think I will get a drastic improvement in mpg efficiency? WHAT? There are many plastic parts in the fuel system of that vintage car that can be eroded by acetone... Who told you it was a good idea? Unless I was assured by a Cadillac Fuel System Engineer that all parts in the fuel pathway, including the injectors were acetone proof, I would not do it.

That’s about as vintage as a bottle of Ripple from the backroom of a Watts liquor store.

Let me get this straight.
I was trying to put some pure acetone which I just bought for 5 dollars for 32oz into my car, and i only had about a gallon of gas inside
You purchase acetone at $20/gal to get better mileage?
How about just buying more gasoline? You should get about 6 gallons plus. At least your travel range would increase without fouling fuel lines, filters etc.
But hey, it's your car.

Let me understand this: you measured the acetone in a plastic medicine cup?
