Thats about as vintage as a bottle of Ripple Thunderbird from the backroom of a Watts liquor store.
Everyone knew Ripple was for the barrios, not the ghettos! LOL
What's the word?
Thunderbird!
What's the price?
Thirty cent twice!
Ahhh. Thunderbird!

And Im just back from church. This is another of those days with air you can wear.
I'm back, and dragging. It's warm out today, humidity is up a bit, but not one of those really bad days.
Interesting morning at church. Several visitors, and the returning visitors declared their intent to join. (Problem: our parking lot is now frequently full -- and it's summertime, our slow time.)

What will happen in the winter? Stackable parking?

Good question. We can fit a few cars along the entrance, where the drive’s apron is quite wide. But not sure beyond that.

No room for expansion? Is there an adjacent lot that can be rented?

No, unfortunately. We have a long triangular-shaped property, with the hypotenuse along the road. Where it tapers to a point at the south is the entrance to the development behind us. Once upon a time we could have extended the parking lot further down the wedge, with a single row of parking, but we didn't need it then and were stretched to build what we could.
Now the county has become rather more regulatory, and with the planned widening of the road we're on that wedge becomes unavailable.
There is a (water) pipeline trail immediately to our north, but the parking is technically for the trail.
Oh. And land here has become VERY expensive.

Quite expensive. The “Growth Management Act” has greatly diminished the amount of buildable land, which has really driven up prices within the urban boundary. It also doesn’t hurt that Microsoft is expanding, and they pay well.

Ah. Like Las Vegas. Twenty years ago, you could buy a hugh house for $60,000. Now, you’re lucky to find one for $250,000.
And I just heard some thunder, so I need to shut down for the night. We may get rain with it! :o]
Later!

Why not? A parking ramp the size of the church should do it.

We’re not that large, and definitely don’t have that kind of money.

We were relatively small until the past couple of years. There have been several factors driving our growth since then, including our new Rector with his young family, a number of new programs in the church, and a significant web presence so folks can find us and get an idea of what we're like before visiting.
Here's our website, take a look. (And note that we have three bloggers, including our Rector. This high profile continues to bring new members.)
One of the sad things is that apparently many of the Anglican churches around here are dying, literally -- comprised of a dozen or so folks getting up in age, and no children. So parents looking for a liturgical church with orthodox teaching and support for children have very few choices.

Sigh. All we're getting is muggy. You'd think we were in the Midwest or something.

Well, see #1632. The future is looking bright, if not easy.
We could always use a park&ride with a shuttle van, but the only weekday park&rides near us are... church parking lots.
