Carol........good point...never been stopped by a lady policeman.........but I really think my “No ticket” status is from the white hair...I look like everyone’s granny...if you get my drift.

“Knock on wood” is my way of warding off any bad luck...right? Not that I beleve in that kind of thing....BUT bragging on not getting tickets is asking for trouble... ;o)

This reminds me, I have got to get a bookcase made to put all my cookbooks in, I have some oldies, real old, you know, so much LARD in this, in that, One is a turn of the century one, 1900, now that one is a blast, the ‘do gooders’ would have a fit if they were to see this one in print now.

I don’t remember that we planted okra ( I’m a northern gal, you know), but why not? If they are firm in the middle, you know, not like a cucumber, they should be ok. But I do freeze my squash after cutting them in slices.

Re the cookbook and do-gooders? Oh?

Are the recipes a pinch of this and a snip of that and enough suger to fill the palm of your hand? I learned to cook a lot of recipes that way without the written recipe.

Dog, saw a great program last night on The History Channel.

Thought of you. It was all about the origins of the supermarket.

What kind of power saw did you get? I need one, there are a couple of trees right in front of the house that need to be removed.

Texas Hill Country is getting a lot of rain, and the S. San Gabriel river is just bubbling. It looks threatening.

Not much happening here. I’m pulling my zuccini squash plants and Roomey wants me to plant more okra. He loves that stuff. I picked a bunch of tomatoes, the first. And my Big Boy had a tiny taste already taken by some creature. I hope it liked it, I picked it.

that sounds like it was interesting. I once worked in a supermarket during my college years.

We watched America's Got Talent. I'm trying very hard to "share" the remote and tv viewing decisions.

Mr. HOB likes AGT, although the guy dressed like a pharoh really got to us. He had weird eyes and told David H. to go you know where. Sharon and Piers voted him to return. I know why Sharon did; he reminded one of Ozzie in his weirder days. But I don't understand Piers reasoning.... there wer four buxom full figured gals on who really sang and performed well as a group. I am glad they were given the chance to go on.

Take it easy walking Jemian. At our ages, we need to take care sometimes, especially if something has happened before to cause further injury somewhere else. So take care dearheart.

I have baby zucchini about 3 inches long..I planted far too many plants.

Tony Snow is on with Glenn Beck discussing immigration. Glenn states that he doesn't think anyone is willing to seal our borders.

lysie, my mom made a recipe like that, but she didn’t can. Rather, she made it fresh for dinner and added parm. cheese to it . It was delicious! Yummy!

I canned a bunch with that recipe. Greg will not...put a gun to his head...not eat anything with the name squash.

Although, I made zucchini bread and faked it as banana bread. He loved it. It was several years later ..I confessed.

He will never trust me again. LOL
