I just found one my dogs hanging from a fence. It's still alive but one of it's eyes is now protruding out of it's socket. I tried to push it back in a little but I got scared and I don't want to damage it. Is this something that will go away on its own? Or am I being to scared and can push it in on my own? I can't really afford a vet right now, but will if need be.
I’ll chip in.
Well, if he took the dog in to a human hospital they would roflol all right.
http://www.anywho.com might be useful for FINDING a night emergency vet.
Thank God you found the dog when you did.
I think you HAVE to go to a vet. Tonight. Sorry. Your dog almost died and you don’t want to get this wrong. He could scrape the eye out with his paw tonight, imagine how you’ll feel finding that tomorrow.
I am assuming you do not have a regular vet, since you said “A vet” not “MY vet”. Weep and wail and beg them to put you on an installment plan. It will usually work, most vets are softies, especially in an emergency.
Actually, I had to put one of my cats down after hours at an animal hospital in NYC. They told me up front they were just going to bill me. Guess it’s bad for business to have people at the front desk crying their eyes out while trying to find a credit card.
I lost a retriever when I was little. He was chained up because he was known to jump the fences. He had plenty of chain, but he had wrapped some of it up around something and then jumped the fence because he saw me leave and wanted to be with me. I’d assume the same kind of thing happened here. Prayers for the dog.
And for damn sure, not to the Viet.
I have an eye out for the truth.
I will too. Let me know your paypal id after you get a bill from the vet.
I am waiting right now to take it to the vet, darn thing is the car brokedown the other day so I have to wait for a ride. I can afford the vet bill, but with the car breaking down its an extra heavy bill month. Anyways thanks for the responses and will post back later on the eye.
Same here, ‘cause I’m afraid my first impulse (squashed) was to post a less diplomatic version of same.
Actually? I once put my eye back in after a freak accident when I was 21. Went to the doc afterwards.
Yeah.
Don’t fool around go to the vet ASAP! Work out the details later. Most vets are compasionate and will work something out. There are also humane and dog rescue orgainizations who have funds available to help pets who’s owners need some finanical aid.
BTW - I hope you don’t read this post because you’ve already left to get your dog medical attention.
Good luck and prayers for your dog. If you have trouble paying, I and other posters are willing to help financially.
And I’m glad to see you’re not responding to any of these posts right now. I hope it means you’re in the car right now headed for the vets. Good luck to you and your four-legged buddy.
If you are in the Phoenix area, email me. I can give you a ride. I am heading home.
I’m saying a prayer for you & your dog. I know how it feels to go through a rough spot. You’re not alone, we’re all rooting for you.
I have an eye out for the truth."
Hope aft_lizard's dog is OK.
And, I hope you are too, cause I don't know why you would write this to me.
A bad joke (they eat dogs in Vietnam)
You are kind, many blessings on you.
oh dear, I KNOW your dilemma. When Oliver was stricken I was looking at 6000 for surgery (we live on 10K a year) & God took him before I could make a decision.
Most vets will work with you. I am guessing you could if you knew how, sterilize your hands & put the eye in (yuk).. but most of us would feel pretty squeamish.
PLEASE keep us posted & know that your FRiends here REALLY do care & understand you dilemma. Anyone who responds here is an animal lover & not trying to be hard on you. When we are in panic mode we dont see too clearly. We need our mom & dads (AKA FReeper FRiends) to help us.
prayers for you & your baby
