Been there, they still hold it against us for nuking Nagasaki and Hiroshima. They are not taught that they started the war nor the atrocities they committed.
They don’t like us. Go to Australia instead.
My wife's aunt and a cousin died at Nagasaki. No one in her family "holds it against us".

I’m with you on this one. I have heard from a Japanese engineer I worked with that the bombing saved his life. He was supposed to do a suicide mission if the US attacked.
I have never encountered the reaction you describe. And I have had many discussions with a lot of Japanese folks on WWII as well as a number of other topics. Folks of all ages - from 12 years of age to 80 + years old.
I think your comment is far less than accurate. While one might well encounter a Japanese with hostility or ill-will resulting from our use of nuclear weapons...by that same token, a person like that isn't going to go out of their way to make buddy-buddy with someone they might despise.
While I do think Austrailia is a fine place to vacation, the topic here is Japan.
