I don't know if I have any Patriot ancestors or not.
It hardly matters. They gave us this republic, I intend to keep it.

My father was in the U.S. Army in the fifties. He stood ready to defend America against invaders. Unlike today’s “leaders” who are trying their best to sell it.

My GGGGG++ grandfather was Colonel Joshua Fry, born 1770, died 1754. At the time he died, he was the commanding officer of George Washington in Virginia. He died in a horse accident and Washington took over the command. Very interesting man. I just learned about this six months ago.
A bunch of other notables followed him, too, including another ancestor who was Lincoln's best friend, Joshua Fry Speed.

John Adams. Not sure how many generations back, on my mother’s mother’s mother’s side.
Three of four branches of my family have been in this country since before the revolution. My grandmother is a legal immigrant from England who jumped through all the hoops and became a citizen the right way.

My ancestors are credited with making some of the earliest, totally American made, long rifles, in other words, not using imported parts. Some of those rifles were put to very good use. If you get a chance to visit Williamsburg, check out the “Honaker” rifles.

My grandfather was in the Sons of the Revolution.
And as it turns out, he also had King George III as an ancestor.
So his genes covered both sides of the conflict.

I’m a direct descendant of John Adams and John Quincy Adams. According to my mother we are descended from Abraham Lincoln on her side but the way she described it to me seemed a bit convoluted.

I think every soldier in every war that was fought for the preservation of this country is a patriot. There is not stopping the love the soldiers from the revolution on to today. It is a shame that this country is going to be split apart again by this bill in congress. Face it the reps want them for servants and the demos want them for minority voters. Each side is against the people who have to live in normal society with these people. The only ones who agree with this bill are the elites. Maybe my family did not fight in the Rev. war. but WW1, WW2, Korea, Viet Nam , the Gulf War and now this one in Iraq does that count. $ purple hearts and one congressional medal of honor on my side here. Maybe I can not trace my family back to the rev , but I think they are all pretty special to me and my family.

OOOPs I forgot I had relations who fought in the civil war also. Just thinking here also some made it to Arlington. Lucky person here, why do you think I got the nickname Betsy Ross.

Don’t forget the rev War started America . A lot of soldiers died to keep it. God bless them all !

Not me. I am only the second generation born here. On the other hand, my grandparents came to America to become Americans. Learned English, although they spoke their native tongues in the home (mostly in the kitchen!). They became citizens, as quickly as they could.
And I still remember visiting the White House on a tour. My grandfather wept openly. He was so proud that in this country, an immigrant could walk through the home of the most powerful man on Earth.
So, hey, maybe they were patriots after all.....
