If the proposed Amenesty Bill passes, our country will change in ways we can't forsee. In thinking about this, I thought it might be inspiring to find out how many Freepers have Patriot ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War. Naming those who gave so much for the establishment of this Republic will make their sacrifices (their lives, their fortunes, their sacred honor) more real to us. It will remind us of their determination in the face of all odds and give us encouragement to "keep the Republic."
That's what I meant to say.
All I know is that my husband’s great, great, great, great grandfather was the first gov. of Pennsylvania, Thomas Mifflin.
You and my DH are somehow related. He is directly descended from Gov William Bradford (Gx10 Grandfather) and is also descended from Samuel Morse and Elizabeth Jasper who came over on the Increase in 1635. Finley is descended from them as well.
It would be fun to compare family trees sometime and see where they cross.
In the meantime, I will look for you at the next family reunion.

See where you come in at www.morsesociety.org , at least I think that’s the URL.
OH, and we are also related to Sir Francis Drake.
Me. Mine were from what is now Fauquier County, Virginia.
Hey, to me you are blue blood. WW2 was no picnic for the men who went and fought .To me you are better then anybody who joins a country club. Thank you, because your dad fought and my relatives we are sitting here typing to one another.
My aunt was related to John Alden and could trace her roots back to the mayflower. She was kind of the family snob and never liked the family, but married my uncle .But I guess you could call her a relation. She never really came around and I can remember her some. She was a very pretty English woman.
