Houston-based KBR was awarded an initial $385 million contract in January 2006 for one year, with four one-year options extended into 2007. KBR held a previous emergency detention contract with ICE from 2000 to 2005.

ICE spokeswoman Jamie Zuieback told Corsi the primary intent of the contract was to build temporary detention facilities that could be used in the event of a mass migration crisis, but she confirmed the facilities could be employed in national emergencies, including natural disasters.

Yah..most cats don’t like to travel. We had one that freaked out if he saw his carrier. He KNEW he was going in the car. We had to tranq him before we could even put him in it.

Belle is ok. Winchester, not so much. He's been an "outside cat" the last four years. Gone a little wild on us. Was goging to haul him in here tomorrow night and give him a flea bath.

It'll probably hurt me more than him...

Here too (I'm back). Especially after hauling a whole lot of wood (branches, trees, you know), all intertwined. Another session or two (next time with saws) and I'll be done with stage 1.

The lower woods were infested with mosquitoes today -- at least three, maybe four. That's usually what I see over the course of a whole summer; we may be in for a bad season. *\;-)

Hi. Just checking in. I was out all morning wandering hither and yon under the hot sun. Had a nice lunch-time meeting in a beautiful air-conditioned house and now I’m back at the keyboard in my un-air-conditioned home.

We don’t have air-conditioning either, like 90 - 95% of houses here. But our summers are more mild.

I was all geared to a day of doing nothing, and doing it very slowly, and one of my neighbors knocked on my door to tell me the cover on my truck was on the ground.

There hasn’t been a wind, so I figured someone had tried to take it. Again. This itme, it got hung up on the front bumper on both sides, and I guess it was at that point that the thief (or thieves) saw the alarm light flashing inside.

So now I need to try and find a way to hook it to the bumpers so the truck would have to be jarred to take it off. And also play “musical parking spots.”

I prefer the cover to pigeon droppings...

I have A/C, but the thermostat is set to 85 in the summer. And even then, I have to go outside every so often to get warm. ;o]
