Raucous round of applause!
I was out shopping earlier with Anoreth, James, and Vlad, and a clerk said hello to James and asked if he was having a nice day. He looked a little stuned (as he often does) and looked at his feet. The clerk said, “Oh, are you shy?” and he looked up and said, very firmly, “NO! I’m JAMES!”
The clerk said it made her morning.
I’m off early tonight. Y’all take care!
XO
Good night. I’ll be getting back to real life, too.
LOL!
James has MY vote!
I don’t like to do things on Sunday, but sometimes, I have to. Father’s Day was one of those days, and I stopped at the store on my way home from church.
The check-out clerk was in an obvious telephone argument with the parent of someone who was to come in and work, and she kept telling him, it didn’t matter if it WAS Father’s Day, the kid was scheduled to work, and if he didn’t come in, it meant someone else had to cover for him, and EVERYone wanted to be home for Father’s Day.
She finally hung up on the guy, and he called right back and said his son was quitting.
I looked at the girl (obviously upset) and said, “That’s OK honey...consider the source. If his dad is that bad, the kid will be just as bad as an employee, and just as undependable.”
Everyone in line tried to make the girl feel better, but I don’t know if we succeeded. Poor kid.
Lots of learning experiences when one’s a retail employee. Once Anoreth has her driver’s license, maybe she can get a job!
While we were at church this morning I let my baby daughter (age 15) take it once around the empty parking lot for the first time. Her mother asked her if that was the first time she had driven and she said no. Her sister had apparently let her take a turn around the parking lot before.
My baby is growing up (youngest of 4). I must be getting older.
Nah! That can’t be it.
Old, older, oldest!
I’m a child at heart. And sometimes in mental capacity. So I think I will go to bed.
Goodnight!
