Fla. Lottery Says Ticket May Be Misprint

OCALA, Fla. - The Florida Lottery is refusing to pay a $500,000 prize until it can inspect the $20 scratch-off ticket, which officials said Thursday appears to be a misprint.

Joe Curcio, 56, says he got the ticket at a service plaza Sunday on Florida's Turnpike.

I think the whole idea of playing the lottery is stupid, but they ought to just pay the guy the $500,000. It was their error and refusing will disproportionately hurt the lottery’s reputation.

The lottery racketeers know their customers well. People dumb enough to play the lottery will continue to play. I'll bet the guy they're trying to shaft is still buying lottery tickets.
