Restless Leg Syndrome

Posted on 05/05/2007 4:53:26 PM PDT by Battle Axe

Anyone out there in Freeperland have restless leg syndrome? I just cured mine. Didn't cost any money.

I found a book by Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo--EAT RIGHT 4 YOUR TYPE.....meaning A,B, O and AB blood types. It said that chicken!!!!! is toxic for a B blood type. I'm a B and despite my suffering with this for 50 years, I am now free from the crazy symptoms. I gave up chicken. I can eat eggs and turkey, but not the muscle of a chicken which contains an agglutinating lectin.

My legs would react after the evening meal....sometimes. I never coordinated it with chicken, but I ate a lot of chicken. I thought it was good for me.

Don't know what other blooc types will do.

We are what we eat.

TOPICS: Health/Medicine
KEYWORDS: diet; restlesslegs
If you know your blood type and have restless leg syndrome, let me know.

I'm A+, and my sister and I have kicked in bed all our lives - sound asleep on our belly, kicking the bed. I drive my wife nuts. The dogs sleep at the foot of the bed, but know to clear the impact zone when I roll over. :-)

I'm glad you found something that works for you.

A friend turned me onto that book a while back, but it told me that I should eat legumes and beets and shouldn't eat meat. I'm sorry, but that's what food eats!

"If God didn't mean for us to eat animals, why did he make them meat flavored?!"

According to this book the muscles of chicken contain a lectin that agglutinates in the bloodstream. I thought chicken was healthy and ate a lot, but I don’t date because unless it was for breakfast, I would embarrass myself something terrible. I can come down with it as soon as 30 minutes after eating. And I usually ordered chicken.

Now I am eating only fish and beef plus a little turkey. So far so good.

this is the book on Amazon. Looks like the used ones are quite cheap.

This is looking like the way to contact the author. I can only vouch for B types like me.

I’m A+ too. No problems here, other than I think liberals are nuts.

After my husband’s heart attack five years ago, he gave up all red meats. Only eats poultry, fish, vegies, grains, and fruit. Coincidently, I began losing sleep at about the same time.......he seems to go on a five mile hike every night while sleeping. He sleeps. I don’t.

I think I will eliminate the chicken for awhile and see if his nightly hikes slow down. He has been in South America for the past week on a business trip and I have slept like a baby. He will be home tomorrow and I shall begin the experiment.

Thanks for the info.

O-, my legs are inspired by sugar during the day, too...

Cheers!

I haven’t heard of that book in a long time. I’ll have to look into reading it again.

So it turned out you were doing the Chicken Dance?

Apparently!!

I have tested it twice in the three weeks that I have known about it. Once at a benefit dinner I dove into a barbecued chicken without remembering it was chicken. The symptoms reappeared about an hour later. I had eaten a leg quarter, the dark meat. It wasn’t as bad as the next thing I did. At an Amish wedding they had grilled skinless chicken which I ate. I got it worse than the dark meat. It lasted the usual length and came on about 45 minutes after eating the chicken.

Remember, I am a B and the book only says B’s are affected by this. I don’t know if it works for other blood types.

A neg, and for some reason my syndrome is limited to the right leg only, so there’s probably no dietary connection. Bothers me maybe 2-3 times a week for an hour or so.

So that means it will interfere with your driving.

Mine was never in both legs at the same time, it was one or the other, but mostly the left.

I thought the twitching and discomfort came from my tendons.

The physicians say it is anecdotal...meaning????

I was hoping there were other B blood Freepers who could prove or disprove this.

A pillow between the knees when going to sleep on your side cures it. If trying to go to sleep on your back, put the pillow beneath your knees.
