If marking is a problem they make odorless (to humans) sprays that you can use that will prevent a cat from spraying or clawing up furniture. Feliway works well.
Nachum,
You need to have his anal sac/glands removed. Once you do this, he won’t be able to spray.

LOL!!
Get a divorce.
I keep my cat outdoors. He’s neutered, and doesn’t spray, but he still urinates wherever he wants, and that stinks.
Suggestion: send him out in the neighborhood; neutered male cats seldom last long out there; they can’t resist trying to be real tomcats, but they always get their asses kicked. Since I found that out, we have always had fixed-females.
I just had to give up my cats (litter mates) of nine years. It was pretty painful but my daughter appears to be allergic. I had to move right away because of the allergy but if you have a few weeks look for a paws program (allows you to hold onto the cat while the humane society attempts to find a family.
The other option is you clean up after them..

I have Fabreze wars with my male cat. He comes to the door and meows. I will open the door with spray bottle ready. He glared at me, then goes back out into the yard. He hates it when the dog makes fun of his "Spring Breeze" odor. This makes me the winner.
Meanwhile, the dog has reclaimed ownership of the mini van.
Now THAT is FUNNY! LOL!
Its not...
Scenting is behaviorial. Some individual animals do it others tend not to... I had a dog that would spray every time she was startled.. but rest of the time, perfectly fine.
Just need to have the glands removed on this individual and the problem is solved.

Water Pistol. With the exception of the tiger, cats do not like getting wet. (Okay, there was that one weird domestic cat I saw on a video who loved to shower with it’s owner. But it was the exception.)
Spray = get hosed down in the act. Even the cat’s small brain will get the connection...er...eventually.
Of course, you could just turn him into a catnip junkie. When you are that buzzed, you are too tired to spray.
How old is the cat? If he’s over a year, it may ingrained. It might take awhile for the testosterone to get to levels where he might not be interested in marking territory. Do you have other animals? Another cat maybe?
Good point, my male would spray even though he was neutered but when he got put on CD food (his was a bladder problem) it cleared right up.
You could get him neutered ot else get rid of the wife.
LOL
WHY CATS ARE BETTER THAN WOMEN
You don’t have to contend with mothers in law.
Cats don’t use your credit cards.
Cats don’t hog the bathroom for hours.
Cats don’t need a new dress every time they go out.
Cats don’t have PMS.
Cats always look good first thing in the morning.
Cats never question your decisions.
Cats don’t complain about how much you eat or the way you dress.
A cat won’t scream if it sees a mouse in the house.
Cats don’t ask “Am I getting fat?” and expect you to lie.
Cats don’t call the lawyers if you sleep with another cat.
Cats dont object to kisses just because you haven’t shaved.
Cats don’t expect expensive presents on their birthday.
Cats never make you sleep in the spare bedroom.
Removal of the anal sacs/glands ends the spraying.
If he is pissing, nothing much you can do.. if he’s just spraying, have the sacs removed and the problem goes away. He can try to spray all day long, and nothing will happen.
