Where will they go? Lets go to the commissioner:

Well end of day one. Can’t say my Bills did a great job, but they didnt do a bad job either.
#300 I mean...
Spears, Ferguson and Canty are the starters. Ratliff has been solid as a back-up NT. Spears and Canty are young but have done well and should continue to improve. Were thin up front but then thats the nature of the 3-4.
BTW I dont care for the 3-4. I think a 4-3 flex is the most durable and reliable

I’m perplexed. Apparently Spears and Canty are no longer starters and we no longer play a 3-4 or a 4-3. We now play a 1-6 with a nose tackle and 6 linebackers. I don’t get the pick.
They have
2 4th,
1 5th,
4 6th
2 7th
That’s a lot of room to work with to find a couple of diamonds. If you look at their depth chart they are actually in good shape although I am getting concerned that they do not have enough stars at key positions. I suppose that with all of the guys that they are bringing back as subs to go with the draft their back ups will be pretty good. Next year they should think about impact players though.
They have 2 more chances at a SB before the team turns over.
I guess what is surprising is that they are thinking long term...which is actually pretty smart.
They are not “selling the farm” to achieve immediate impact...we shall see if that is good for next year, long term -yes.
The Eagles fans at the ‘99 draft booed hard when they took McNabb.
There were five players invited to NYC this year (Joe Thomas went fishing with his dad instead) and the Browns got two of them.

It appears that the Pats were willing to stick to their philosophy of not sacrificing value. They have adopted their own version of Moneyball when it comes to the draft. If the pick will not return to them a player that grades out they will dump it for more picks or a pick next year. They had an extra pick in 2003 that they traded to Baltimore which netted them Vince wilfork in the 2004 draft. I think the Ravens took Kyle Boller.
Wilfork for Boller????
Belichick and Peoli should be arrested for that one.
What next year means is that they can get a great player at 15 and the cost will be Staley. Good lineman but really a second rounder in most years. I guess when you are dealing from strength you get to make those plays.
This year will likely go down as one of the weaker drafts. For the Pats’ trouble, they got a safety, a good 3rd receiver in Welker (2nd round pick traded) and two picks next year that will be higher in their respective rounds than what they would have gotten this year for a weak talent pool. They also got an extra 4th which means a serviceable back up.
I still want them to do poorly enough this early season to finally rid themselves of Matt Millen, if such an event is possible. (Anyone check William Clay Ford's pulse lately?!?) But I want enough good stuff there for someone competent to come in and get them competitive.
Being a Lions fan these days can twist you into a pretty perverse pretzel....
Andy Reid is on
C-Heroine
Which Heroine? :)
Exactly. Why waste picks this year when you believe the talent will be better the next?
It’s amazing watching what they did, no? I saw some guys in the 3rd round that looked good or perhaps a 2nd that could have been had with a 3rd and 4th. They wouldn’t bite.
I’ll be interested to see what they do today.
PATS GET RANDY MOSS!!!!! PENDING PHYSICAL - DEAL DONE!!!!
Adam Schecter NFL Network
Just heard it. I’m going to post the article shortly.
Mr. Moss, meet Tedy Bruschi, Rodney Harrison and Richard Seymour. They will rip your head off if you quit on them.
I bet that’s pretty much how the speech will go.
Day two ping.
