Are Bears eyeing Quinn, with Cleveland looking to move back ahead of the Bears to pick him?

And my ‘Boys just scored the Brown’s #1 pick next year. Things are looking up.

Quinn was a big game flop. Girl friend would have looked better on South Beach, now she gets the dog pound.

So, close to being able to make that deal. Jerry Jones, genius that he is, beat us to the punch.

Woohoo! I’m feeling better about the Cleveland pick being a good one than the Buffalo pick a couple years ago! BTW, weren’t we also at #22 when we traded out and Buffalo picked Losman?

Dallas made a brilliant decision. They weren't looking for a QB, especially an overrated one like Quinn. The needs they have can be addressed by the 2nd round pick they got from Cleveland and their own. And best of all, they get the Browns #1 pick next year!
It is possible that Dallas can be a Super Bowl contender in this upcoming season and still get the first overall pick in the 2008 draft.

I like it, too. I've been awful hard on Brady, but that's because I've been sick of the hype, he's Kiper's favorite (bad enough by itself), and the Browns just had too many other needs to go for a feel good pick at No. 3..
I'm happy the Browns got him at the spot he really belonged in in the draft. Besides having a decent line in front of him this way, he also, just maybe, gets some of the pressure taken off by being drafted later. I think it might end up helping his career by getting rid of the "savior" expectation an early-pick quarterback always has to contend with.
This also means the Browns might be able to bring him along a little more slowly, which is something Quinn needs. The main thing that scares me, though, is that Romeo is coaching for his job from week one, and that means Brady might get his baptism by fire early.

Right you were.
Too bad Cleveland sacrificed its first round pick next year to do it.

Quinn will be another Ryan Leaf. The beauty is that the Browns didn't give up anything of real value. It's unlikely that they would be able to find a guy with that 1st rounder next year who has the upside of Quinn. Drafting Leaf with the #2 overall pick had the opportunity to really blow up in the face of the Chargers. This is an awesome move for the Browns. The Browns GM deserves some drafting award.

Correct. Weren’t all the CBs with pick #22 value gone? That’s about the only position we have a dire need for, IMHO. There’s a deep class of WRs and if we don’t get a safety early it wouldn’t be that big of a deal. There’s a potential that we can get a monster prospect next year.

It is actually reminiscent of the Bulls trade with the Knicks involving Eddy Curry. They didn’t feel that they needed Curry to be a top tier team and they are 1 game from toppling the Heat and they will get the Knicks lottery pick this year to make them even better next year.
