The United States House of Representatives Government Oversight and Reform Committee, on a party-line vote, subpoenaed Sec'y Rice to testify before the panel. The subpoena requires her to discuss the Administration's justifications for invading Iraq.
On the subject of Iraq, the DemoncRATS in the House of Representatives passed legislation that would require an American pullout of Iraq beginning October 1.
Finally, the DJIA is over 13,000--so much for the slowdown.

I agree with your sentiments. I really appreciate your work, Chair. Your concise essays which encapsulate the news of the days with a little conservative commentary thrown in. It is a good way to get us started and focused.

This AM, early, I was checking my hanging plants and the strangest butterfly, I’ve ever seen, come up to my hanging wave petunia to sip the nectar. It had a long beak like a humming bird. The hummingbird didn’t pay any attention to it. They were both feeding. This is the first time I’ve seen one. It’s wings were yellow and outlined in black or dark brown. It had a thick body like a moth. bbl, have to help stuff envelopes.
Bizzare. I've never heard of those. Where are they found?
We have seen them , here, in Central NY. They love my Phlox.
That’s really interesting. I looked them up and what I saw made me think they were only in Europe.
Honestly, I’ve never thought of moths as being particularly pretty.
We have them in Iowa. They LOVE my Datura. They actually swarm in at Sunset, when the Datura blossoms are opening. It's an incredible thing to witness.
I've actually set on the patio beside the Datura at dust, and they ignore me. But swoop right in to collect the fresh nectar.
6 years ago there were especially plentiful. At that time, our now 9 y.o. gd was just a Tot. Her parents would bring her several evenings a week just to sit on the patio and 'watch the bird bugs'.

Good Morning. It continues to rain here. Some roads are closed because of water over the road. Sump Pumps are working overtime.
I'm at work so I'll be lurking most of the day...

Several phone calls to make so I better get to that chore...for some reason I have to be "in the mood" to make calls..put them off often.

It is very dark here also. I had dogs out on leads & Toby who is a scardy cat /dog was pretty distressed. He is happy to be inside home & at my feet
Long good game last night. I was at Lizard (Macedonia) watching Cav’s game w/friend & when we left it was tied. I had a headache & was very tired & didn’t stay til end. Glad I didn’t as it went 11 innings.
It was nice there were two LARGE TVs with Indian’s game on one & next to it the Cavs.
It's getting so I hate making telephone calls. As a matter of fact, sometimes I hate receiving them, too.
Around noon, I'll be leaving for a few hours. Have a good afternoon.
