Tusday, April 24, 2005, BASTION
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

We have a motto in Texas: If you don’t like the weather, wait a few minutes.

Also, she will be east by northeast of DFW airport in a little corridor that almost always seems to miss the severe weather. It is almost as if there is a jet stream or something that diverts the worst of the weather either north or south of that corridor as the storms move from southwest to northeast.

Check out this pic of our current conditions. As of 1:45PM Central (2:45 Eastern), the eastern edge of the dark red oval shape covering the Interstate 35W marker is approximately where our house is. Thus, the most intense part of the storm is in our area right now.

If you were to draw a straight line connecting the dots for Grapevine and Irving, and go about 2/3 of the distance from Grapevine to Irving, you would be approximately at the U of D; notice there is no severe weather there. As this storm moves to the northeast, the mildest part of it -- between the two yellow areas and currently over Benbrook -- will probably move across the airport and the U of D area.

Is this thread open for new posters, or just a
bastion of peace for longtimers? :-)
Seriously - is there a ping list? I just clicked here from the front page.
