What are your plans for Earth Day?

Today is April 22, Earth Day.


Am I the only one who says WHO CARES???
Has it become "cool" to go green? I see it everywhere and I just don't understand.

The reason I ask is because I am a television producer. Recently in a meeting of story ideas.. the idea of how to go green was brought up.

Yeah yeah we'll tell people about different ways to save the environment, one person said. Keep in mind.. I live in a Very Conservative area. These people aren't your usual liberal tree huggers.

Why is Global Warming such a big issue? Or is it a fake issue? Global warning probably does exist. But there's nothing we can do about it. Global warning, from what I've read, happens on other planets like Saturn too.

I tend to think it's a made up issue. Shouldn't immigration be the number 1 issue? How about Iraq?

How about a Governor going 91 miles an hour down a highway with no regard for anyone's safety?

How about the fact that some kid just shot up a school.. and now gun grabbers will be going after our guns more than ever?

Muslims worship the moon, and treehuggers worship mother earth. Both groups are equally as dangerous to freedom loving Americans everywhere.

So in light of all this.. what are you doing for Earth Day? I'm gonna go gas up my SUV, fire up the gas grill, put gas in my SUV, and chop down a few trees.

I just watched a segment on Fox where they talked about how to go green in your home.

I watched it and learned some things.

Leave unused appliances plugged in ALL the time.

Wash all your clothes on the heat cycle.

Always dry dishes using the Dry cycle. Never let them dry on their own.

And don't forget to mow the grass today!!!!!

Ira Einhorn killed Holly Maddux--stuffed her body in a trunk in his apt closet (ewwwww!) and then escaped to France. Finally caught and extradited and serving time in PA. Strangely enough, no mention of him in the Earth Day entry at wiki, although Einhorn's entry says he 'claims' to have been one of the founders. Oh, and did y'all see google's tribute to earth day?

The usual...I have some boxes I'll take out and burn in my burn barrel, for starters. Then probably go to my son's house and help him stack firewood. Since our only vehicle is a large GMC Yukon SUV, we'll be driving that around...Nothing special, I guess. But we almost always burn something on earth day.

In today’s Tennessean there was a story about one of the small counties here that had released a suspect after someone had posted a fake order from the state court; the first tipoff should have been that the fax originated at a country store and the second clue ought to have been that the forged document was riddled with misspellings.

The spokesperson for the officials said that they don’t usually check the fax transmission information and, as far as the spelling is concerned, they routinely receive real court orders containing many incorrectly spelled words.

Eventually they were alerted by a citizen two weeks later that this guy didn’t deserve to be out of jail and they went to his house where he was hiding out on the couch, drinking beer and watching T.V.

They gave him a free ride back to the lockup, so no harm was done.

I’m going to let capitalism work for me by selling some “carbon credits” worth only the paper they’re printed on and nothing more. If it makes some greenie feel good and makes me some spending money then mission accomplished.

I'm planting trees for carbon offsets. Also, I will walk to the store 3 1/2 miles from my house and buy some energy efficient light bulbs. I won't start my vehicles or lawn mower or any other gas engine driven equipment.

I already went to Church in my pickum up truck. Planning to help the neighbor BBQ, have a few beers and try to mow the grass with the riding mower.

My local cigar store had a POR LARRANAGA rep there a few weeks ago. I had not tried POR LARRANAGA before then, but since I have smoked them on a weekly basis. Try the PETIT CORONA 5.5 X 38 next time you get by your local store.

I’m going to get in my gas-powered vehicle and go over to my sister’s to celebrate my BIL’s birthday with a BBQ, using propane instead of briquets. And, I’m wearing a green shirt today. Just doing my part to help Mother Earth.
