Just like you, wait tilll I signed off a thread then show up and launch cheap shots. I didn’t say anything negative about M Dell on this thread, just pointed out despite the months if not years now we’ve been hearing Linux was coming on home computers the fact is Mike himself has repeatedly said no, and this isn’t one either but a $5,000 system. On Torvalds I simply pointed out he is here on a green card and has recommended in writing “whacking” people over software patents, which of course you said was xenophobic and an insult to your family which is again obviously far from the truth. Those are the facts, learn to deal with them.

Hmm You post once at 3:24:34 and again at 3:53:00 less than half an hour apart is ‘signing off’?

There was no cheap shot at you I stated to AR that sometimes the best way to deal with you is to not allow the conversation to go way off topic.

“Mike himself has repeatedly said no”, Dell is currently looking at how to do Linux on dekstops (per idea storm) is that ‘No’?

“On Torvalds”, I told you Im not feeding you Xenophobia and borderline racism. Its xenophobic because you apply a different standard to a Native American over someone here legally who has never broken a US law. Your fear of all things foreign is the stuff of legend.

Obviously wrong, since I'm actually harder on Stallman than Torvalds, because Stallman is further to the left even though he is American.

Your fear of all things foreign is the stuff of legend.

Well when they're not only taking our jobs overseas but now killing us on our own soil, I'd say some skepticism is healthy. Too bad you don't have any.

More advice about the tin foil hat: It not only keeps the mind control waves out, but it keeps the crazy waves in. Use with caution.

^^^^^^^^^once again you have nothing but rhetoric in defense of leftists.^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I’m not defending leftists. I’m just acknowledging who they are.

^^^^^^^^^^Show any statements by Jobs or Gates in their entire life that are as radical as those posted by Stallman to his website in just the last week.^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That’s a red herring. These guys don’t seek to stir the pot the way stallman does.

Besides, your statement of “as radical as” is an admission that you yourself even know that they’re leftists too.

Obvioisly you are it’s an easily recognizable tactic called “lowering the bar” for the ridiculous rhetoric posted on Stallman’s website every day. When I posted some of it, you didn’t even flinch, just kept accusing others of being equal which we know isn’t true. Rather than fight liberalism, your laughable position seems to “they’re all horrible liberals equal to Stallman so I support Stallman proudly, and create countless threads pushing his software and deflecting criticsm.” Doesn’t work, except on those easily fooled.

While I keep attacking liberals, all you can do is attack me. Obviously not slowing me down, just further exposing you.

^^^^^^^^^^^When I posted some of it, you didn’t even flinch^^^^^^^^^^^

As has been noted, you’re preaching to the choir here on FR posting his crap.

^^^^^^^^^Rather than fight liberalism^^^^^^^^^^^

It’s really sad that in your mind you’re fighting liberalism when all three major players = liberalism.

Right now, you have a communist in your box and you’re blind to see it.

I don’t get it. I put Ubuntu on two machines and both of them were basically unusable because of cursor/mouse problems.

If there’s a distro out there that has been fixed I MIGHT try it again but it doesn’t take very many bad experiences to turn somebody off forever.

It’s not like a mouse is new tech from last year or something.

I’m currently running Suse but I’d recommend Fedora.

What are your full system specs? Might not be the mouse, rather the problem manifests itself on screen via mouse/cursor.

Both Gateway laptops with PIII running at at least 400mhz and 200 meg of mem. Standard VGA, standard ATA/EIDE, nothin spectacular.

Hey, when it takes a couple hours to set something up, and it don’t work for squat, well I got better things to do.

PS:
I have about 9 laptops and 3 desktops. I am running in some config EVERY version of Windows since 3.1 on some machine or another(except Vista). I have RH9 on 3 boxes, and even RH9 with SMP on one.(an older Asus board with dual Klamath Celerons)

You didn’t imply I’m a rookie, but I’m definitely not a rookie!

Yeah right, the world's richest man is a communist, so you run around pushing software from an obvious communist nutball instead. LMAO.

So you think Bill Gates is an equal communist to Richard Stallman too? Gates has a personal site that posts stuff like this every day?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1820013/posts?page=56#56

That is your excuse for creating new Linux threads every day too, to save us from the communist Bill Gates, by replacing his software for that from “Saint Ignucious” Richard Stallman? LOL.

A rather typical reply from ORT. He doesn’t actually answer the question the way it was posed. Ne never does.

Clearly I was keeping the discussion on topic rather than allowing it to veer off on unrelated tangents. Gates gave to Bush’s re-election campaign, while Stallman is advocating Green Party donations on his website. Those are equal in your opinion too I suppose? And you have Gates on record somewhere making radical leftist statements like we see on Stallman’s site every day? Halfman says there’s no difference and I “have a communst in my computer” equal to the one in his.

^^^^^^^^^^You didn’t imply I’m a rookie, but I’m definitely not a rookie!^^^^^^^^

ehh, I see no need for implications.

Those are some pretty vanilla....... dare I say old configurations.

The only thing I can think of is because they’re laptops?

But if you don’t have the time, then neither do I. :-P

But if you’ve already had success with RH9, my suggestion is to stick with RH............ Give Fedora a shot.

*shrug* He could be a communist, he could be a liberal, he could be a progressive..........

The title that he’s chosen for himself is wholly irrelevant to me.

Knowing that he’s a leftist is all I need to know. He’s not a conservative. That’s it.

So if my only choice for software is ‘left wing software’ as you’d put it, I might as well use the one which is of the highest quality.

^^^^^^^^^^Gates gave to Bush’s re-election campaign^^^^^^^^

Now you’re just omitting facts. Gates/microsoft gave to everybody , not just bush’s re-election campaign. Has been for a long time. That’s called covering your bases.

There’s not much to be learned from that besides having a linguine spine.

^^^^^^^^^^^Halfman says there’s no difference^^^^^^^^^^^

No sorry, halfman didn’t say that. You said that, because that’s what you’d have liked halfman to say. It made it alot easier for you to tear down your own strawman than to actually reply to my words.
