OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma already has a state fruit, so legislation given final approval by the state Senate on Tuesday declares the watermelon as the official state vegetable. The measure was introduced in the state House by Democratic Representative Joe Dorman of Rush Springs, site of an annual watermelon festival in August.

“thanks for the advice on the briney melons though...yikes”

I read that real fast and thought you were talking about Britney Spears... and her (dare I say it?) melons.

I was in the mall the other day, passed Aeropostal and the word "apostate" hit me and I started laughing out loud.

And for the record, I RARELY think about britney's melons.... ;^)

Ok, who else had a grandmother who would put down layers of newspaper on the picnic table then serve cold watermelon on a hot day?

Anyone ever scoop a hole in the top of a watermelon, pour in grain alcohol, and let it soak?

I, also, rarely think about them... married 37 years and can’t remember why I would want to think about them...

Signs of aging.... not even remembering why you would have done something, if you would have, or if you ever did.

A tomato IS a fruit, but then again, so is a watermelon.

If my wife was in Oklahoma, she probably would have nominated okra for the honor. She hasn’t been able to get enough of it since we left Florida.
