NASA has released the new ultra high resolution pictures of the "face on Mars." For just a little bit of background, In 1979, scientists studying pictures of the Martian surface noticed that on the Cydonian plain, there stood out, what seemed to plainly be, a giant face staring out into space. Over the years, scientist Richard Hoagland has studied a series of NASA images. Richard and other investigators have postulated that this face is in fact, ancient architecture fallen into ruin. This structure is one square mile in size, and part of a larger complex which appears to be an ancient Martian city, all fallen into ruins.

No, NASA hired Lisa Nowhacky. Hoagland is a former consultant for CBS

What makes this man a “scientist”? Does anyone here know his background?

If you look closely at this recently uncovered NASA photograph of a cryptically unidentified galaxy, you will see a perfect map of downtown Memphis. Those aliens are clever. Verrrry clever.

"You mean the conspiracy kooks based their analysis of advanced cultures on Mars (and the inevitable guvmint cover up) on a single, poorly focused photograph!!?!! Say it isnt so." You'd think that such "advanced" culture om Mars would have noticed a much nicer, greener and warmer planet called "earth" and left that crappy place long ago, or at least written a giant "HELP US" sign for us to notice.

Anyone who devotes all his time to the study of a particular field of interest is a “scientist”. At least that’s what MSM would have us believe, since they regularly call such people “scientists”.

You can see shapes in clouds too, but it doesnt mean that a cloud shaped like a space ship really is a space ship. Way to ruin my whole day. There is a cloud shaped like a $100,000 bill outside my window and it is headed RIGHT towards me. Dammit.

LOL! That is SOOOO un-PC! Good thing you don't have a radio program!

Maybe they felt most comfortable at -20° and arid. They saw all that heat and greenness as an symptom of a runaway greenhouse effect, making the third planet an unlivable hell.

In the picture to the upper right, next to the feature labeled the “cliff”...I would have expected Hoagland to call the seeming meteor crater to be labeled “the baseball stadium.” Good grief.

Here's the thumbnail. Click on it for the full sized version.
Here is a 2001 version of the same image, and it looks pretty much unchanged.
Hoagland claims that the image is no longer a humanoid face, but a Lion face.

I thought the pics were interesting, but it's clear there was no widespread, bustling alien civilization on Mars.
Imagine if humanity became extinct, but our relics remained. Think about some of the things we've constructed that would still be evident even after tens or hundreds of thousands of years. A major city would be in bad shape after all those years abandoned, but it wouldn't take an observer very long to figure out that a major civilization with an industrialized economy once lived there.
We see no such constructions on Mars.
