As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!
MSNBC has dropped Imus in response to his comments about a black woman's basketball team. A Pennsylvania DJ was fired for merely repeating what Imus had said.

Three Candidates Enter, One Candidate Leaves [Peter Suderman]Matt Yglesias is predicting John Edwards to win the Democratic nomination due to the candidate's lead in Iowa. Theres no way to call it definitely, of course, but if I had to hazard a guess right now, Id go with Obama. I was never entirely convinced that Hillary was inevitable, and I think that Obamas ability to fund-raise, to energize the Democratic base, the netroots, the youth vote, etc., combined with his ability to seem fairly liberal without being off-putting to moderates and those less invested in the political process, will push him to the top. Regardless of how you characterize his actual views, he just doesn't seem extreme. He's really a very likeable politician, a trait which I think will play especially well in our somewhat rancorous political climate. Less important, but still a factor, is that I think theres an urge in the Democratic party to nominate a minority candidate this year.
Pelosi chosen over Harold Ford.
Fritz Mondale chosen over Harold Washington
McAuliffe over Maynard.
Money sent to loser democrat in Florida over the black democrat running for governor in New York.
Nope, they won't do it. I actually think Edwards has a pretty good shot because a lot of democrats want to win, and they are unsure that Hillary OR Obama can draw enough votes, no matter how much they like (or in Hillary's case...fear) them.
Good points. It’s going to be one interesting ride over the next 19 months or so...
I’m off to bed now. Night one and all.

.........ALL of you.:)
Good night everybody!!
New Orleans would have me packing lead and on high alert all the time. There would be one in the chamber, and my hand on the saftey. Thats not always true of Iraq. That place is freaky.
Sweetie, that is an old discussion. ;)
Good Morning to the Dawn Patrol.
Yo
This year is the first I’ve watched American Idol. And I’m addicted.
I honestly don’t have a good feeling about who the Iowa Democrats will side up with on Caucus night. Of the 3 leading candidates, Edwards seems to me to be the least dangerous. (So I’m guessing they’ll go with someone else, since my political leanings aren’t in step with Iowa voters anymore)
Thank you for posting that snip. I’ve been so wrapped up in other things, I’ve not paid very close attention to what Iowa Democrats are thinking about Presidential Contenders.
I’ve never seen American Idol. I see news about it, but I’ve never watched the show.
One of my DIL’s is seriously hooked on that show.
Tom DeLay is saying “If they take out Don Imus, we’ll take out Rosie”
Since when is Don Imus a right winger? He supporrted Kerry.
I’ve always found Imus’ style to be repulsive, so I know only what I’ve heard on FNC and read in USA Today (delivered to my hotel room door each morning at 4:30... I read it because I don’t want to lug my laptop back and forth each day,, consequently I have nothing else to do)
Why does Tom DeLay think HE can make a decision/threat like that? Sort of arrogant, don’t you think?
He's implying it's an orchastrated effort to take out Imus (because he picks on Hillary?)---so do the same thing to Rosie !!
After reading some of the news and opinions here last night, I am beginning to feel a bit like Iowa Granny.
I wasn't in step with the liberals, and increasingly I feel like I am out of touch with what's going on in Republican minds.
In other words, I think the whole darn country has gone nuts.
My own prescription for remaining sane: While the candidates' war rooms are digging UP dirt on the opposition, I'll, thankfully, be digging IN dirt.
Good morning.
I’m enjoying “Idol,” too, Rav. Entertainment brings a smile to my face. It’s a good non political, pretty much wholesome diversion.
Don’t understand much of the male fashions/appearance on the show; know it’s because I’m in the elderberry stage of my life, but gee whiz, they look so bad.
I'm sick of Imus, and could care less what happens to him.
I think the Rosie/DeLay deal is just DeLay's way of pointing out the double standard.Prager was referring to this the other day also.
Of course, DeLay has some organization now which could mount an effort to pressure her sponsors.
Remember many FReepers signed petitions directed to her sponsors.
So it's just not DeLay trying to do something about Rosie, and this was before Imus.
And thinking about it a little more....pushing back at some of these folks like Sharpton, etc. isn't a bad thing. And I don't equate such actions with defending Imus, but instead calling the race pushers to account.
I just checked their web site, and Bob Evans fish sandwich has 37 grams of fat!!! No way am I blowing my diet over a fish sandwich. I just called him and asked him to get me a veggie sub from Subway instead.
Good grief! And while there I looked up their chicken salad platter and it has 1180 calories!
I think a lot of people in this country are heavy because they have NO idea what calories and fat are in the things they are eating!
