My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Dwells not in magic spell a part to startle, welcome open heart? Tells not the softest candlelight whence springs the source of second-sight?
No glory, triumph, may there be without complementarity, two flow together - empathy eliminates disparity.
Without the need for guarantee man, maid may braid eternity, - swells not to tenderness one part but part completes, twins futures chart,
Bells chime not to old echo quite, new notes lend throat to rhyme delight...

“How do things go for you??”
Better actually, today we settled into a small studio apartment, and Nan and I are begun on the task of rebuilding our lives. While a task for a guy sixty and a wife... a bit younger(!), we will get on with moving forward, and just doing it. Who knows, this may be the beginning of an ADVENTURE!
;^)
Oh damn,
it’s so hard
things don’t go just right
and only mistakes in sight
dealt bad cards
fate’s do slam
Ok, enough griping
put it behind and move on
time to roll up sleeves and fix it
though it takes time and hurts a bit
we build up to a new dawn
and hear the cardinal’s piping

Hi Slip18 and Cyber Liberty, welcome to the Lair. I hope you find it a comfortable place to chat and create, and stop by often.
I've just been in Bangkok and will post some photos shortly, I'll give you a ping when they're up.

Hi all,
I took a walk around rainy Khao Sarn road down to the city river last week. It's very much the rainy season in Bangkok now. Regular viewers of Lair photography will recognize a few of the exact same shots I posted last year, I thought it would be fun to see them both as rainy season shots, and simply after the passage of time. Try to spot the repeats.
With the miracle of digital cameras (like 460 hi resolution pictures on one $29 memory card) I walked around and snapped 100 pics! So I'll post 10 at a time every few days till they run out. Ads some visuals to the Lair at any rate!
Cheers,
starbase
()Statue doing traditional Thai greeting (the sign around her neck says "Open" (hee hee)
() Yes, it's a big chicken, rooster actually. Cockfighting is very beloved across most of rural Thailand. There's even a monument I saw to a certain king who really loved cockfighting, and his monument has dozens of these big chickens around it!
()Guest house shot
()Guest house shot, see the rooster in the distance? Some of the pictures are a little out of focus, I'm still getting the hang of digital photography. The pictures look better at smaller sizes, but I thought I'd try them a bit bigger this time.
()
()Popular street near the famous Khao Sarn street. This one cicles the monastary that is the source of a lot of the pictures I've posted.
()Rainy season in full swing
()Traditional style Thai shop/residence. Ah, the simple life!
()
() A mysterious path. Hmm, looks familiar, only now it's much more rainy than I remember! I wonder where it leads?

How fair doth Nature
Appear again!
How bright the sunbeams!
How smiles the plain!
The flow’rs are bursting
From ev’ry bough,
And thousand voices
Each bush yields now.
And joy and gladness
Fill ev’ry breast!
Oh earth!—oh sunlight!
Oh rapture blest!
Oh love! oh loved one!

Splish splash, splish splash, the rain drops are falling in Bangkok!
1.)A monk buying a few things needed to pursue spiritual perfection, no doubt!
2.)Yummy! Fresh fruit, anyone? And I do mean fresh!
3.)And maybe a chicken BBQ chaser?
4.)They respect old trees to the point of worshiping them! In fact, when the Buddha was alive, he was sometimes away when pilgrims came to see him. To keep them from feeling too disappointed that he was out, he said to offer their gifts to the Bo tree instead. Great respect for old trees continued on since that time.
5.)But lest you think it too behind the times, Bangkok is loaded with the most modern conveniences, like these nice cars parked in the temple parking lot!
6.)Drip drop, it's raining!
7.)Did I mention it's the rainy season? As in, a bit of the wet stuff!
8.)A bit of temple to help the rain drops go down!
9.)Toot toot! A little trumpeter!
10.)Better grab and umbrella, I hear there's gonna be rain!
