Why will you (not) vote for Rudy Giuliani?

Imagine the election is today and you are in the voting booth. The republican candidate is Rudy Giuliani. Will you vote for him or not? Why?

Suggestions for discussion:

Motivation:

I've read hundreds of articles and thousands of replies about Rudy, and I'm hoping we can cover all the issues and bring out all the reasons in one thread. (Yeah--I'm an idealist and also missed that other thread...)

Years ago, I “Wrote in” a candidate and never felt right about it.

I’m a Republican, for better or worse, and will vote for the nominee of my party.

If it happens to be Rudy, so be it. I won’t work for him, donate or help raise money for him, but I would vote for Rudy.

I will not vote for Rudy.

If the choice is Rudy or Hitlery, then the country deserves to go to hell.

& what does that have to do with the War On Terror or stopping the Democrats from running EVERYTHING & totally ruining the country in EVERY concievable way?

No. Because I won’t vote for a Liberal no matter what the initial next to their name is.

You are the one who brought up the issue of Rudy saying he would appoint strict constructionists.

I pointed out the problem with that. If you wish to stick your fingers in your ears and yell "nyah, nyah, nyah!" in response, so be it.

The only way I might vote for Rudy is if it is completely obvious that absolutely NOBODY better were left on the table at the end of the day for POTUS. I WILL NOT VOTE FOR HIM IN THE PRIMARIES! I enjoy my guns, my pseudo-freedom from the homosexual agenda, and human life at ANY stage too much to jeopardize them with a Rudy vote...

Again, I'm not a 1-issue voter though the War On Terror is my top issue. I'm still going to vote for the Republican nominee...whoever that is. If you, in effect, want to vote Democrat, more power to you!

He is the only candidate with solid executive experience. He led his people to recover from two of the worst disasters in American History. The first was a near death experience, financially and spiratually for New York. The second was outstanding leadership and deployment of his resources after the terrorist attack in september of 2001.

All the other candidates with secondary single issue credentials don’t begin to compare with the executive accomplishment and ability of Rudy.

I have not made a descision to make the vote for Rudy. There is lots of time. He is running for an executive office and is the only candidate in either party with strong executive record and ability.

If he is the nominee, I will vote third-party.

Third Party.

I would vote third party also.

Even if that means siphoning votes away from RINO Rudy which would lead to Hillary winning --- I would still vote my conscience and vote third party and let the Republican party rot in Hell.

So, is it OK to bump your own thread so it will appear during PDT lunchtime? I guess I’ll find out...

Sounds nice, but when you actually look at his "executive accomplishments," you realize that very few of them are conservative.

No in the primary, yes in the general.

Rudy sucks, but Hillary is the succubus.

I will not vote for Mayor Giuliani in a general election under any circumstance. His positions on abortion, gun control, and McCain-Feingold are the primary reasons for this, as well several new reasons I discover each day here on FR and share with my friends. If he were pro-life, I would struggle hard with the idea of voting for him - but since that isn’t the case, I won’t worry about it.

Voting for Rudy is a vote to move the Republican party dramatically to the left, and we would have no one to blame but ourselves for that, should he win.

Election day, I would vote third party or write in a candidate if Guiliani is the Republican nominee.

You think they want Hillary Clinton in their command? By the way...which third party? And what's the candidate's name, or don't you know yet?

To answer the opening post, I will vote for the Republican nominee, because I believe Democrats are a bigger threat to this nation than any Republican, however moderate, could ever be.

If Giuliani is the Republican candidate in November 2008, I will not vote for him because he does not believe in my right to own an AR-15 and he would sign AWB2 into law.

Ah, blackmail, is it?!

Tennis shoes. Actually, those new (to me) low-top hikers that look like running shoes. Very comfortable. Easy to walk in. I recomend them!

Now, give me my answer, please.

If he is the nominee, I will vote third-party. He’s as dangerous as the worst Democrat.

Ditto for me. If I'm going to lose my Second Amendment rights, I'd rather it be at the hand of a DemocRAT. At least I expect such actions from them.

My core issues are 2nd Amendment and abortion. Rudy’s on the wrong side of both of those, from where I sit. I’ll not vote for him.
