Agree, but if we were retired and alone, the freezer and pantry would be stocked..so ..snow would not be a daily concern. Besides, the wood pile would be high and the woodstove hot. HHHmmm..love it.

Reminds me of my youth...hanging clothes out on the line in the winter and then taking them down and bringing them (frozen stiff) into the house to place on clothes bars.
