Will the Age Difference Between Fred and Jeri Be a Factor?
Vanity | OldPossum

Just a thought, but how do you think how people will react to the 30-year difference in the ages of Fred and Jeri?

How old is she? If she's less than 40, then I have to say guilty, or not proven at best. If she's over 50, then not guilty.

I think I'll look at how he'd run the country instead of how lovely and young his wife is.

President Tyler had a young wife too...twenty-something in the 1840's. He was much older, I think more than twice her age at that time.

Um, it's 24 years- and my Dad and Mom were 28 years apart.

Never seen a better couple. It depends on the character of those involved.

My wife's a decade younger than I, as well... make of that what you will...

Right, I had previously thought that she was 36 and he was soon to turn 65, so I just rounded it off to 30 years. As I later find out, she's 40. My bad.

See post 85, wherein I correct my arithmetic.

Please understand that I am not saying that Mr. Thompson is right or wrong. Heck, who cares what age any married couple is as long as they love each other.

I did point out in an earlier post that if a man is substantially older than the wife, she does stand a greater chance of being a widow. Of course, it's not guaranteed to turn out that way. With luck both will live to be very, very old and die within a short period of each other. Life has so many twists and turns, one can never predict anything with reliability.

Agreed, we've had so many crones to look at lately in the political field (however, I never thought Laura Bush was all that bad), it will be nice to have a little eye candy....but that's not the only reason. If she has a hand in GOP functions, then so much the better! I love to hear that!

I saw your correction- after posting, dagnabbit.

I do appreciate what you are saying- my first wife, who was three years older than I, died 25 years ago-- you just never know what fate will hold.

There was an awful lot of tongue-clucking on that Island of 3,500 people where grew up about my Mom and Dad, but to me, the other kids parents seemed, well, like children themselves!

Mine were steady and unflappable.

And really, not until the very end of their lives, the last few years when age finally weighed in did it seem to matter much at all.

She's younger than me, and I still think she's hot.

I think he must be a stud to attract such a much younger woman.

I know that she's a political media consultant. Is she also an attorney?

The logic in that conclusion is overwhelming.

I guess you don't watch the show, Law and Order. Last night it made fun of conservative Christians once again. The bad guy was a born-again Christian who feared for his daughter's soul. So he killed her science teacher, because the teacher taught Darwinism, and because he suspected the teacher of deflowering his daughter. Right!

But that wasn't enough. He also burnt down a Catholic church to cover up the murder.

And Fred Thompson went along with the prosecution.

The bad guy or gal on this show is ALWAYS a conservative Christian, or, once in awhile, a conservative Jew. There are never any Arab bad guys or liberal bad guys on the show.

It's so biased it's pathetically laughable.

And Thompson appears, week in and week out, going along with all the B.S.

A Ronald Reagan he is NOT.

An actor who sells out his principles to make a buck--that's what Thompson is.

Bad cess to his campaign!

PUHLEEZE! You gals are making me sick. Thompson has a face that only a mother could love. Without Viagra, he'd be a total floppy.

NOT presidential material; the newest wife must be in it for the money. Is this his third or fourth wife? No one seems to want to discuss that.

A 110-year-old Saudi man has taken a second wife because his first, 85-year-old wife no longer satisfies his needs, the English-language daily Arab News said. The report did not explain why the man considered his current wife to be unfulfilling, but it said that his new spouse is 30 years old.
