Just a thought, but how do you think how people will react to the 30-year difference in the ages of Fred and Jeri?

"She's young, but not THAT young to where she's be too immature to be a First Lady." Agreed. Jackie Kennedy was born in 1929 and became First Lady in 1961, making her 31 years old when she became the First Lady.

"I think a woman of forty is mature enough for the White House and the age difference won't be a problem at all."If people remember, Jackie Kennedy was 31 when she became first lady in 1961. Then two years later, in 1963 she was out of the White House after her husband was assassinated. She was in and out of the White House before she was 35 years old, and the MSM still yearns for her!

What serious info is already out there about Fred Thompson's wife? People are going to know more about her if Fred Thompson does decide to officially enter the '08 GOP Presidential race.

*bonus points for Fred Thompson*

I doubt it. If she was some dumb bimbo trophy wife, yes. But she's an extremely intelligent, accomplished, powerful woman, so no.

Who the heck are Fred and Jeri? The New Flintstones??LOL. Sounds like it could be, doesn't it? I caught that within seconds after posting and corrected it, but by then there was so much activity my post was #11.
This is my first FR post. Please be gentle.

I was just remembering how young Jackie was at the time of Jack's election. He had quite a few years on her, too. As a First Lady, she did just fine and it was surely not easy on her from beginning to the tragic end. With what we know now about her husband's infidelity, she was managing more than any of us knew. And she had the 2 young children and even suffered a miscarriage during that time. As you said, with many, she is still among the First Lady favorites and most would, at the very least, give her an "A" in class.

Actually Hillary! might resent it most because she wants a hot younger woman.

That's OK, Old Possum. I should have read further on to see who they are.
Fred Thompson does not interest me as a candidate. I guess it's that ultra-lib TV show he's on. All those actors and writers hate Christians and conservatives, and I can't help but think that has rubbed off on Fred.

I say non-issue, since there is a far more extreme example from 120 years ago. Frances Folsom was 22 when she married Grover Cleveland and became first lady. She proved to be a very popular first lady. And even Cleveland's political opponents admitted that she was very easy on the eyes.
