AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2251) [Remember the Trade Center!!]

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

Let's call this screed The Great Global Warming Warning, or, in the alternative--what is really behind the "warming."

Earlier this week, we were treated to the spectacle of former Senator Gore showing us why he should be annointed with the doctorate uber alles degree in hypocracy as he sallied forth into the Senate--ignoring anything Republican, mind you, except for the one inconvenient question about his Inconvenient Truth from Senator Inhofe--to warn the planet that it has a fever.

Of course, it is not just Earth that has a fever--increased temperatures have been noted on every planet in the solar system in which scientists have cared to measure--this includes Pluto (but wait--didn't they say Pluto was no longer a planet, so, therefore, we cannot use that icy rock as evidence against the eko-wackos?--don't care, going to anyway...). Yes, those pesky humans are so troublesome they are screwing up the whole solar system. Yep, even the Sun is subject to heating--must be one heckofa runaway period of waming on that rock of a planet, Earth. Humans are just incapable of mixing with nature.

And what, exactly, does one do when humans are out of control? Well, the liberals have the answer--and they point to conservatives telling us that we wanted it first--control! The only difference, naturally, is that conservatives want to control the behavior of folks such that we don't hurt other folks. Liberals just want to control us so we don't hurt ourselves--and "don't hurt ourselves" has a pretty big umbrella. The only problem--for someone to keep us from hurting ourselves means that someone has to have the chutzpah to actually presume they know more than us.

Re-enter Mr. Gore.

Surely we must understand that our efforts are hurting the planet, he has told us so, and he is Mr. Environment after all--with a direct line to the pulse of the planet. Surely he touches the planet every day to take its temperature, but he best not do it in his house. Using more than 20 times the electricity of the average American, his house probably heats half the state of Tennessee. If global warming were really a problem, Mr. Gore, maybe your swimming pool could be 75 degrees instead of 85?

He has an answer to that--he always does. These are called "carbon credits". You see, if you require the use of more carbon (in the form of carbon dioxide--not the same thing as carbon, but who ever said the environmentalists would let such picayune things as facts get in the way...), then you simply buy it from someone who doesn't. In other words, if you are rich, you can simply buy your way out of the compliance regime. Presidential wannabe John Edwards does, indeed as it turns out, have it right--there are two Americas. Those who make the rules, and those who follow the rules--and liberals only sit in the first category. Or, to paraphrase a famous madame--rules are only for the little people. Got to have that 85 degree pool dontchaknow.

All right, so Mr. Gore doesn't want to take the energy pledge (never mind the math in the pledge doesn't work--he didn't bother with that answer--as a requirement to use only what the average American uses is a tail chase as folks use less, the average goes down), what's the big deal? Isn't he right that we should treat the environment better.

Yes, he is right on that account, but we confuse using the environment responsibly with not using it at all. God gave us dominion over the planet, which gives us the responsibility to use what is provided for us wisely and to good benefit. And this is where Al Gore and his minions fail, and fail miserably.

Let's just start with the basics. Look at the United Kingdom. Britain has been castigating the United States for not drinking the economic kool-aid of Kyoto; and for good reason--their people are grumbling over the strictures their own government is placing on their freedom in the name of protecting the planet.

In London, if you have the temerity to drive one of those dreaded SUVs into the city, you must pay the equivalent of $50. In fact, you must pay $50 for each day you drive an SUV in the city of London. That's well over $17,500 per year in the form of a tax for simply wanting to drive your car in a specific location. The British aren't stopping there, nope, not by a long shot.

In an effort to make George III proud of the current society, there is serious talk of prohibiting the English speaking peoples of Britain (well, the rest of the British subjects, too) from taking more than one trip on an airplane. George III simply drew a line on the map and said you can't go west of the Appalachians--the current government is getting set to say they cannot go east, west, north, or south from England! And the ONE flight? Oh, yeah, you will need to pay a carbon tax to take that!

Let's bring it back across the Atlantic. There is talk of rationing. The eko-wackos would want you to believe that the capitalist system is destroying the planet, so let's ration the resources in the name of sustainability. Rationing on the scale of World War II. Most of us weren't around for that, but it required you to prove your driving was essential, and if it wasn't, you really didn't get much gas, if any at all. You'd be a prisoner in your home. You'd likely have to change jobs or move--after all, it isn't essential to live more than walking distance from where you work, is it? Also, tires were unobtainable, housing scarce, rent was controlled (still is in New York in places--think for a moment was that does to the price of non-rent controlled units under control of the same management...). Rationing, if PETA had its way, would extend to meat. Of course, a willing leftist legislature would be more that ready to step in with the necessary emergency legislation.

But the cruelist cut of all is these policies of the left--the great protectors of minorities--are racist. Al Gore says we shouldn't build another power plant. That's not just in the United States, that's anywhere. It is estimated that one million people die each year in Africa because, yep, you guessed it, no electricity.

And they'll keep right on dying.

But they won't be creating carbon dioxide, so Algore can sleep easy. His all telling hand will show the fever of the planet--nay, solar system--will be going down and we'll be saved.

All of us, that is, except those not deemed worthy by the Great Al.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chariman.

(((Jemian)))

Dennis Prager was talking about this yesterday, because of the Italians exchange of a left wing journalist for some captured Taliban. The Italians gave in, and there'll be h*** to pay for their actions.

See Michael who was an embed at the time with the Deuce-4 picked up a gun when the commanding officer was shot and his back up the Command Sargant Major was fending off a bad guy in hand to hand combat.....seems this Public Affairs General thought this violated the rules.

There's only ONE rule in war.......kill the enemy. (When did generals become "public affairs" officers?)

When did generals become "public affairs" officers?

During the 90's. Any idea who was 'commander in chief' then? :(

Please ping me to your impressions of Giuliani IG and thanks for the other insights.

I'm window shopping candidates at the moment, no firm decisions made at all, and would support Giuliani if he gets the nominations, even if that makes me a "treasonous liberal" to some on this forum.

If I liked him enough, I'd support him in the primary although his stance on social issues tends to irk me.
