A southwest Houston father shot and killed a 27-year-old man Saturday after arriving home to find the man with his 13-year-old daughter, police said.
After the parents arrived at their home in the 6900 block of Chasewood, the girl and 27-year-old man fled out the back door, said Houston Police Department spokeswoman Johanna Abad. The man later called the mother by phone and returned to talk to the parents, but the girl remained missing throughout the night.
When the man returned to the house, the father was waiting for him with a loaded shotgun, police said. The two argued before the father shot and killed the other man.
It was unclear Sunday night whether the father was in police custody or if any criminal charges had been filed.
Houston police issued an Amber Alert for the missing 13-year-old, but canceled it after the parents learned their daughter had spent the night at a friend's house. She came home Sunday.
Abad said she did know the nature of the teen and the 27-year-old's relationship.
Please warn me before any further attempts at humor. You wouldn't want me to fall out of my chair laughing and hurt myself now would you?
"Give the man an award."
For killing Jerry Lee Lewis?
The guy will probably be charged with 2nd degree murder and cop to voluntary manslaughter. Probably do 5-8 in a medium security prison.
As a father of a 13 year old daughter, jury nullification would certainly be the order of the day for me.
This might not be his first time with a 13-year-old, nor would it probably have been his last. The story is too sketchy right now, but I'd go pretty easy on Dad if I were on the jury.
It will be interesting to see how this is handled. Strictly speaking, it's a murder charge under the Texas Penal Code. In the punishment phase, it can be reduced to what other states consider 2nd degree murder if there is there is "sudden passion" from an "adequate cause."
It's unclear how "sudden" this was. I don't think there's much question about "adequate cause."
So, I don't know how the Harris County D.A. will proceed. I suspect he'll punt to the Grand Jury. The facts appear to indicate that a murder charge is justified under the law, but there's also a good chance that a Harris County jury would decide that the victim needed a good killin'.
Remove the sexual tools with a well aimed blast and let the ER try to save him. No need to just kill him in the driveway when he can die more slowly and in a lot greater anxiety.
Sorry to say this, but she'll just be on her back with some other guy before we know it. Is he going to kill them all?
After all, many here would apparently line up to give her the experience of her life and all would be well with that, according to some of the teacher/young boy threads.
I wouldn't convict him. My daughters boy friends knew I was death on two legs if they crossed any lines.

That is pretty slanderous to state that many Freepers want to introduce 13 year old girls to sex.
That kind of remark, or even worse, belief, doesn't belong on freerepublic.
Yahooooooooooooooooo!!!!! He shot a rapist. Who would be complaining if the cops did the same thing. We need more dads that will do the same and the rapists will leave the little girls and boys alone.
:)))
Even more confusing than the original. Tesa or Taylor was the 13yo girl?
I think the teen was Tesa Taylor. It is quite odd that the stories have identified her, but not her father who actually shot someone.
Gee, i'm sorry I don't believe as you wish me too. I was pretty shocked too, when i read the stuff from FReepers.
Presumably, his last name is Taylor, also, but that sort of assumes this was a normal nuclear family.
Whoo Hoo! Way to go.
Yeah, right. They were just deciding what color to paint her nails.
Good thing for him this was Texas and not a leftist state.
