My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

We've got to stop meeting like this: Washington, N.C., firefighter Chris Brock reacts to a lick by a dog being rescued for the second time from the roof of a residence. The dog managed to get access to the roof via a broken pane in an second-floor window. Unable to convince the dog to come down the ladder, Brock managed to coax the pooch back inside through the window only to have it return as soon as the ladder was removed.

Well, well, good evening to you. The dog is sorta like the rescued cat that goes right back up the tree. LOL!

Making a shy debut: Polar bear cub Knut is is presented for the first time at the Berlin zoo, March 23, 2007. Knut, born last December, had to be hand-fed every four hours after its mother Tosca refused the baby.

Alighting in two ways: A window cleaner passes a lighter to his colleague while rappelling from a new building in Tianjin, China. You guys are just showing off, right?

Good night everyone.
To: NY Attitude
Oh there you are. I was just wrapping things up for the night.
My back is aching, I did a lot of laundry and cleaning so I am bushed.
To: Soaring Feather
Rest well. Until the morrow.

We call him Mr. P He stands at our door Each morning Like an emperor Aloof, with jeweled crown Mascarared eyes
We offer sunflower seeds He hesitates, then With cautious grace Steps toward the offering Head jerking awkwardly From side to side
He has no home This wondrous miracle Of feathered cobalt blue At Christmastime His tail fullgrown becomes A fan of shimmering eyes

Artist: Bobby Day Lyrics
Song: Rockin' Robin Lyrics
He rocks in the tree-top all a day long
Hoppin' and a-boppin' and a-singin' the song
All the little birds on J-Bird St.
Love to hear the robin goin' tweet tweet tweet
[Chorus]
Rockin' robin (tweet tweet tweet)
Rockin' robin (tweet tweet tweet)
Oh rockin' robin well you really gonna rock tonight
Every little swallow, every chickadee
Every little bird in the tall oak tree
The wise old owl, the big black crow
Flapping them wings sayin' go bird go
[Chorus]
A wordy little raven at the bird's first dance
Taught him how to do the bop and it was grand
He started goin' steady and bless my soul
He out popped the buzzard and the oriole
He rocks in the tree-top all a day long
Hoppin' and a-boppin' and a-singin' the song
All the little birds on J-Bird St.
Love to hear the robin goin' tweet tweet tweet
[Chorus]

White Ibis with Plastic Bag |
|
|
|
I was pushing the laden trolley
when I saw him - a magnificent white ibis with long outstretched wings and something blue like a parachute trailing behind.
What the...?
He dropped out of the air close to me and staggered drunkenly into the loading bay.
I crawled after him on hands and knees.
He was so beautiful and utterly helpless helpless and ridiculous wearing that silly plastic bag like a necklace.
A moment of hesitation - as I perused the long curved charcoal bill - then I lunged quickly and held the bird tight (Mum used to keep chooks)
His trembling body felt warm and fragile beneath my hands
and his beak wasn't sharp at all - but rubbery when he pecked me. It didn't hurt.
I removed the bag and the bird flew away leaving me strangely elated.

What a story, poor bird. Glad someone helped it out.
