Shane Gibson is to the Bahamas as the Kennedy's are to Massachusetts.

>>>Why is that? Because Howie released the photo of he and Anna together? Or because he's threatened to release more? How do we know Shane Gibson is no longer on Howies team? Has he said or done anything to indicate otherwise?>>>

Because of all the scandal, he resigned a week or so ago. So no more official in the pocket. Just a regular old citizen maybe, but not much power there!

Long article.  Some of it seems familiar, so please pardon if it has been posted before.  Surrounding both deaths there was (possibly) orchestrated confusion.

What Really Happened To Daniel Smith?   9-21-06

There was confusion surrounding the death from the start, with one report saying the boy was found sitting upright in a chair, another saying he was found laying on his back in a hospital bed, and yet another saying he was vomiting before he died.  …………….

Quick to dismiss that line of thinking was Reginald Ferguson, the assistant commissioner of the Royal Bahamas Police Force. Ferguson 's comments satisfied the international media, but did little to assuage the suspicions of Bahamians, who have little confidence in their national police force.

The force is notoriously riddled with corruption. An alarmingly high percentage of crimes are perpetrated by former, off-duty and even on-duty officers. The Bahamas police have also been condemned by Amnesty International for numerous extra-judicial killings. Bahamians privately state that complaints of abusive officers routinely fall on deaf ears. To my knowledge, no Bahamian police officer has ever been sent to jail in the past five years, despite hundreds of valid complaints "investigated" during that time. There are even a few senior police officers, I have been told, that can not travel to the United States because of outstanding warrants or extradition requests.    ……………..

Contradictions in the ever-changing story, Coroner Virgill's cryptic comments, the delayed - now cancelled inquest... all seem to indicate a typical cover-up of sorts by the Bahamas government, in an effort to protect somebody.

But who?

Then, came a bombshell. The Tribune newspaper, the most credible source of information in The Bahamas, weighed in with new and detailed information Bahamians could trust. Managed by a foreigner with a disdain for Bahamian corruption, the well-respected paper reported that "20 year-old Daniel Wayne Smith, had been dead 'for some time' before hospital officials were called in to perform advanced life saving procedures."

>>>Stuck tongue?>>>

From my not-so-professional opinion, she was already dead on her stomach. Tongue dried from no saliva stuck to the roof of her mouth.

Don't ask me how I know.

“Friendship” with Anna Nicole forces Bahamian Minister of Immigration to resign

A week ago today, after pictures showing Bahamian Minister of Immigration and Labour Shane Gibson in compromising positions with the late Anna Nicole Smith were published all over the world, I wrote the following:

…[W]hether she actually gave him some pregnant (or post-partum) nookie is immaterial. Although, for what she will end up costing him, I hope she did.

At any rate, to preserve the integrity of his government, Prime Minister Perry Christie must demand Gibson’s resignation…forthwith! And this week’s scheduled meeting of his Party’s re-nomination committee for candidates to stand at the forthcoming general elections provides a fortuitous opportunity for the PM to sack Gibson along with other undesirable incumbents.

Therefore, I was not at all surprised on Sunday night when Gibson appeared on national television to announce that he had tendered his resignation “with immediate effect”. I was disappointed, however, that he turned what should have been an honourable gesture into a pathetic spectacle by blaming a vast anti-government conspiracy for his predicament and claiming that he was resigning only to preserve what remains of his family’s integrity.

After all, his assertions in this respect are patently undermined by the fact that – just days before - Gibson embarrassed his wife by having her to sit by her man for a contrived, nationally-televised interview, during which he tried in vain to spin the damage to save his job. Never mind that he hardly enhanced his family’s integrity by allowing his mother to serve as Anna Nicole’s baby Mammy and his father as Howard Stern’s step-and-fetch-it man who reportedly skippered back to The Bahamas the boat (curiously christened "The Cracker") which Stern induced Anna Nicole to buy in Florida just days before she died. Indeed, only God knows what other domestic services Gibson enlisted other family members to perform as part of the “immigration services we provide all applicants for permanent residency”.

Even worse, however, Gibson insulted the intelligence of all Bahamians by admonishing them to believe him when he says he did “nothing to be ashamed of” and not their lying eyes when they look at those compromising pictures.

This, alas, brings me to the antic support he received from our beloved prime minister - who wistfully described Gibson as a “competent and capable individual [whose resignation will be] a loss for the entire country”. Because, frankly, I was stupefied when he echoed the charge that Gibson was a victim of “an organized conspiracy to take him out”.

After all, if Mr Christie believed that the leader of the opposition (FNM) party was trying to scapegoat such a valuable member of his cabinet and a man he considers a “genuine friend”, then he should have encouraged Gibson “to stand to slug it out” – as Gibson made clear he wanted to do during that ill-fated interview. Especially since, after accepting his resignation, the prime minister lamented the irony, if not hypocrisy, that when three members of the opposition were similarly compromised they refused to resign….

That said, here’s how this rubbernecking drama will unfold:

After hearing arguments from lawyers about who has the right to Anna Nicole’s embalmed body, the Florida judge (who seems as clueless about American law as he is about Bahamian law) will rule - pursuant to what is so patently obvious - that her body must be returned to The Bahamas to be buried next to her son Daniel.

The Bahamian Judge who will hold hearings later this week to determine who’s the Daddy of her baby Dannielynn will rule that Howard K. Stern and all other plausible claimants in this respect must submit to DNA testing to determine paternity. And when it’s proved that Larry Birkhead, not Stern, is the child’s biological Daddy, the Judge will award him sole custody, at which time Birkhead will take his daughter back to America to continue Anna Nicole’s gold-digging quest for a cut of her late husband’s fortune.

Finally, Stern will continue to peddle any picture or story about this tragedy that tabloids are willing to buy. But, when he returns from the baby-Daddy hearing mentioned above, I hope Bahamian authorities confiscate his passport pending next month’s inquest into Daniel’s death, for which he may be found complicit and promptly incarcerated.

If the inquest is inconclusive, however, the Bahamian government will summarily deport Stern to the U.S. to face disbarment proceedings for his unethical and unprofessional relationship with Anna Nicole.

THE END

In that same thread.... it says ANS's Bahamas house is in HKS's cousin's name. I think we may have brushed over ownership of that house, but why would they put that house in his cousin's name and not purchase outright? Especially if you are required to own property to receive citizenship in the Bahamas?

Reginald Ferguson

I have my eye on this character as well. I read the article that you linked right after ANS's death. Ferguson also appears in articles regarding the airport workers that are involved in the drug smuggling cases from the Bahamas to the US.

"Ferguson also appears in articles regarding the airport workers that are involved in the drug smuggling cases from the Bahamas to the US."

I've also wondered if there's any relation to Tracy Ferguson, partner of Michael Scott at Callendars.

No... it costs at least $510,000. ($500,000.00 home investment or business investment plus $10,000.00 for the permanent residency permit)

So they are saying that the secondary Bahamian home (the one under major rehab) is in who's cousin's name? (Howard or Anna's?)

posted at courttv message board not by me: I have close relatives in Nassau and the local gossip is: Moe and the previous baby sitter are in 'police' hiding. Also it appears that the police are also keeping a close watch over HKS or the house or so it seems from the active police presence around Horizons.

If LE has Moe and someone else in police protection than this could be much bigger than what we have perceived.

It brings to mind the drug bust and money laundering that is currently being investigated in that locale.

As far as that creepy belly mobile slime HKS, I really hope that he does not commit suicide there in the Horizon. And deprive us of seeing his sorry carcass handcuffed and marched off to a jail cell

"Remind me to not visit the Bahamas."

Looks less and less inviting, doesn't it? In the drug bust article (Post 1206), a place called EXUMA was mentioned. Sounds way too much like exhume to me.
