All animals (except Homo vegetarians) are omnivores. Some are less capable of sneaking up on anything harder to catch than a blade of grass than others.

In southern India, there are these birds called the white-eyes. I had one pair that had been nesting in the bushes nearby. The pair had a family, with three little chicks. On the day they were led by their parents to learn to fly, I witnessed two of the three being devoured by the squirrels. The little birds froze dead before the squirrel even touched them. Nature's ways!
