Apple today released iTunes 7.1, an update to its multimedia jukebox software as well as QuickTime 7.1.5, an update to the multimedia software that address eight different security flaws. iTunes 7.1 brings support for Apple TV, allowing users to "enjoy your favorite iTunes movies, TV shows, music, and more from the comfort of your living room with Apple TV." Apple said that iTunes 7.1 also supports a new full screen Cover Flow and improved sorting options to let users decide how iTunes should sort your favorite artists, albums, and songs. Apple TV is expected to be available from Apple in next few weeks, after an unexpected delay pushed shipments back from promised February ship date. Apple's QuickTime 7.1.5, a 44.2MB download, delivers numerous bug fixes and addresses critical security issues. This update is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users. It includes security fixes for viewing a maliciously-crafted 3GP file on Windows machines and when viewing a variety of maliciously-crafted files (MIDI, QuickTime movie, PICT, QTIF) file on either Windows or Macs. Both of these could result in application crash or arbitrary code execution, according to Apple. The updates are available via the Software Update.
Anyone know of simple, cheap .mov editor? My camera captures video in .mov and I want to edit them.

iMovie?
I don't have a mac.
Hm. No suggestions, then - well, other than the obvious.
Actually I just discovered Quicktime pro for 30 bucks for Windows. I am going to seriously think about it.
QuickTime Pro will allow you to do some basic editing on the timeline. You can copy and paste clips into the timeline, insert and delete, and export to several standard formats.
Do you know of any other QT editor that would be cheaper or freeware?
I've seen some free QuickTime-based editors for Macs, but unfortunatly, I don't know of any for PCs.
Use "Software Update" under the blue apple menu...
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
What is the WWAN Support Update that shows up with iTunes and QuickTime? It has been there for a few days, but I have no knowledge of Merlin, Ovation, or ExpressCard.
Any clues you can share?
I'm a big fan of Streamclip, a freeware converter available for Macs and PCs.
MPEG Streamclip is a powerful video converter, player, editor for Mac and Windows. It can play many movie files, not only MPEGs; it can convert MPEG files between muxed/demuxed formats for authoring; it can encode movies to many formats, including iPod; it can cut, trim and join movies.
MPEG Streamclip can also download videos from YouTube and Google by entering the page URL.
Available on the Cingular network:Novatel Merlin XU870 ExpressCard (HSDPA)
Available on the Sprint network:
Novatel Wireless Merlin EX720 Express Card (EVDO Rev. A)
Novatel Wireless Ovation U720 USB Modem (USB Adapter, EVDO Rev. A)Available on the Verizon network:
Novatel XV620 ExpressCard (EVDO Rev. 0)
Novatel V740 ExpressCard (EVDO Rev. A)
Novatel Wireless Ovation U720 (USB Adapter, EVDO Rev. A)
With the rew release (7.1) it played for about 2 hours without a hitch.
It remains to be seen if it will perform as well during subsequent listening sessions.
Quicktime Pro is the equivalent of a "Swiss Army Knive" for video. Great for format conversions, but the editing capability is very limited.
If the original author has a Mac, iMovie would be a better choice.
You've got style. :')
Thank you so much.
I don't suppose there would be any harm in updating unused software.
Thanks. Just downloaded am and rebooting now.
Man ,that took a while.
