Supermodel Elle Macpherson is desperate for a man in her life, but is struggling to find anyone who will go out on a date with her.

The Australian beauty, who is nicknamed The Body, has been celibate for two years, and is still single despite attempting to chat up guys herself in a bid to get a date.

She moans, "I just don't get men hitting on me. It's crazy - but apart from a brief romantic intermission last summer, I have been single and celibate for two years. How boring is that?

"I'm a hopeless flirt. I'll go up to a guy and say, 'I think you are so beautiful,' but it doesn't work." (c)

At my 20th high-school reunion (yes, it was a few years ago), the former head cheerleader and Homecoming Queen - who later became a Rockette - came up to me and, after a few minutes of catching up, asked me why I never asked her out in high school. I told her that I thought I had no chance with her, since I wasn't a star athlete or a member of the "in" crowd. She replied that most of the other boys must have thought the same thing because she spent almost all of her Saturday nights at home, alone.

Funny thing is, though, that even though I have always seriously appreciated blonde women (my wife was blonde and Dutch), I've always preferred Irish gals who were dark haired, blue eyed beauties.

I knew a knock-down gorgeous "could a been a model" woman many years ago. Besides being beautiful...she was extremely bright, funny, engaging..etc..etc..

She had trouble getting dates....I always thought many guy's...( including myself...) were intimidated by her.

Last time I heard about her..she was still single.

Maybe that's the case here??

On the flip side of that, based upon the experience of myself and friends when we were young, single and "cute," the FUGLY guys probably hit on her in droves. They ALWAYS seem to have so much confidence. I guess they figure they have nothing to lose and have been shot down so many times.

At a sports bar I used to frequent, a guy who looked like a drunk, slovenly Ben Franklin with bulging bloodshot eyes used to try to buy drinks for all the women who were CLEARLY out of his league.
