Fox News Blasts Kiran Chetry Agent's 'Arrogant Disregard'; Chetry Quickly Jumps To CNN

As TVNewser first reported yesterday, Fox News sent a letter to John Ferriter, agent of weekend anchor Kiran Chetry, blasting the pair's contract demands and severing relations with his client. Fox and Chetry were in the middle of contract renegotiations.

Fox News legal VP Dianne Brandi writes:

You have treated Fox News with such arrogant disregard that we do not desire to do any further business with you. You refused to enter into good faith negotiations despite your client's statements that she wanted to remain at Fox News and was happy with the renumeration we had offered. You and your client's unprofessional demand that we include a clause in her new agreement which would have been detrimental to other Fox News talent is simply not the way we conduct business.

What was the demand? A TVNewser source speculates it could've had something to do with Chris Knowles, Chetry's husband and Fox News weatherman. (Nah, it won't be too awkward for Knowles in the office or anything. Not at all.)

The letter also stated that Chetry was "free to leave" before her contract expires on March 6.

Well, guess who showed up on CNN this morning filling in for Soledad O'Brien. Kiran Chetry.

No official hiring announcement has been made from CNN.

UPDATE: It's official.

I wish Gretchen was fired too. She's horrible!

I heard about two weeks ago that they would be back soon with an updated show like the one they use to have. Don't know! FOX is sure doing some changing lately. They moved E.D. Hill out to another time and I wondered why. Ratings down, maybe?

Alisyn Camerota - I never, ever could warm up to that woman. She would cut off guests and fellow hosts.

I wonder if Louie will be back on Fox & Friends now? hehehe

"Laurie Dhue, Melissa Theuriau and Kiran. My top three."

Don't forget Megyn Kelly, probably the smartest of the bunch.

Re Lauren Green, who was a class act, just caught the end of a show a while ago and Steve or Brian (don't recall) wished bye to Lauren who said she was going to join the religion dept(?) at Fox. Haven't seen or heard from her since. I liked Lauren. She and E.D. seemed to be close friends.

I think something is up with Hannity and Colmes. Colmes seems to be getting more air face time (UGH!). Wonder if Hannity will leave because of his new Sunday show Hannity's America??

Harris Faulkner is *HOT*. Maybe the *HOTTEST* babe they have on Fox right now. She's got those "dancing lips" that Lynne Russell used to great effect for all those years on CNN...

"I could not believe that she's 32."

Oh come now. My Bride was a babe at 20, when I married her. She was even more of a babe at 32 and to this day, at the age of 55...she continues to be a babe.

Some ladies just have it and some don't. Also, my daughter is a babe.

As for me....that 'handsome thing' left Dodge when the hair loss began. ;>)

Speaking of that contract clause: Kiran Chetry's agent "asked Fox News to fire Gretchen Carlson so his client could have her job on Fox and Friends," FTVLive says.

The question is whether Kiran asked for the job, but the agent turned the request into a contract demand with name and date of firing of Carlson. I'd like to think that the agent pushed the envelope, and Kiran didn't act like a prima donna, though she certainly knows she's a hot property. Course no way of knowing the answer to that.
