As TVNewser first reported yesterday, Fox News sent a letter to John Ferriter, agent of weekend anchor Kiran Chetry, blasting the pair's contract demands and severing relations with his client. Fox and Chetry were in the middle of contract renegotiations.
Fox News legal VP Dianne Brandi writes:
You have treated Fox News with such arrogant disregard that we do not desire to do any further business with you. You refused to enter into good faith negotiations despite your client's statements that she wanted to remain at Fox News and was happy with the renumeration we had offered. You and your client's unprofessional demand that we include a clause in her new agreement which would have been detrimental to other Fox News talent is simply not the way we conduct business.
What was the demand? A TVNewser source speculates it could've had something to do with Chris Knowles, Chetry's husband and Fox News weatherman. (Nah, it won't be too awkward for Knowles in the office or anything. Not at all.)
The letter also stated that Chetry was "free to leave" before her contract expires on March 6.
Well, guess who showed up on CNN this morning filling in for Soledad O'Brien. Kiran Chetry.
No official hiring announcement has been made from CNN.
UPDATE: It's official.

"I could not believe that she's 32."
Looks more like a 35C to me.
Same here.
I really like her news delivery; and, I always thought she had a feel for what was genuinely important.
I believe that she'll be frustrated at CNN, but who knows. Good luck to her.
(BTW, I haven't seen Fox News much lately, since it chooses to rival the National Inquirer with wall-to-wall trivia about the truly forgettable Anna Nicole you-know-who.)
.
I wish they would bring back Linda Vester.
Even worse, I found myself checking CNN for CONTENT. FOX was running NASCAR drivel. Go figure. Good thing I still have a good lib filter.
E.D. is a full Liberal...why must you request her presence again on Fox and Friends? She is an admitted Liberal Democrat. Just check out her bio on Wikipedia.
Oh but she is and admits it in this article...

Linda Vester is a favorite! She's been gone at least two years.
They have a show that is going national on the broadcast network this week....it will be daytime as well.
I liked her too......wish they had sent ED Hill over to CNN....and what's with Gathersburg MD?
Michelle Milliken use to live there before her address was outed by some jerks.....and all my Netflix returns get sent there as well.
um....most anchors and reporters at Fox are more than likely to be liberals, as are many of the producers there. They all came from the same small station news affiliates and Journalism schools that spawn liberal journalism. When they were offered their big break at Fox, they took the job and went with the vibe of the main demos of the audience demanded. More importantly, Roger Ailes would have their heads otherwise if they reported like CNN or MSNBC staffers. So don't be surprised that liberals exist at Fox. There are as many there as there are at CNN and MSNBC.

Come on now...fair and balanced (grin)
If she is as you say..at least she is better than Gretchen and Alan Columbs (sp?)
Hello....I just came here to report that I found out that starting in March...Dennis Miller will be having a 3 hour radio talk show...guests, call-ins.
He is signed with Westwood One.
The letter from Fox to Kiran's agent specifically releases her from contractural obligations prior to the contract agreement expiration date of March 6th.
28, soon to be 29 in July:
