Coyotes occassionaly make an appearance in the Bronx, so why should we be surprised?

BTW: In my part of NJ, I have swerved to avoid deer, opposum, and a wild turkey, but never a coyote (yet).

Not in Jersey. The ruling class has removed firearms from the hands of their subjects.

In Texas the coyotes don't dare show aggression. They stay as far away from humans as possible.
That's because we shoot them on sight.
Too bad New Jersey can't do likewise.

Firearms=Coyote Control.
Oh. Thats' right. NJ pushes gun control. Like the police and/or sheriff can handle it....

For now, Liz Murray admits she's living with a bit of fear. "It's frightening in that we shouldn't have to worry about the safety of our children in our own backyard," she says. "It should not be, so hopefully something will be done about it."
Of course, this means SOMEONE ELSE should do something about it.

What's the problem? Coyote hunting is fun!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ooops...it's NJ -- that's the problem! I have read that you can go to jail for owning a single hollowpoint bullet in NJ...
Guess they will just have to whack the coyotes with tennis balls -- or something...
A bichon frise? That would be lunch to a pack of coyotes. Humans they normally avoid.
Wait for the Cougars - thy're on the way too.
And imbicilic New Jersey politicians will eventhen kow-tow to PETA, Friends of Animals, Walt Disney Productions, and morons from New York City who think all animals talk like in cartoons, and not permit any hunting of them.
Call them to an area where they can be safely shot. The ones that survive will very quickly get smart and stay away from humans.
Reverse 911 calls to warn people about coyotes? ROTFLMAO!!
Just tell the people to keep their pets locked up for a time and trap the bastards. Coyotes are not hard to trap. That's right, good old leg hold traps, tried and true.
Heck Dallas, we are not even permitted to kill timber rattlers here in Jersey.
NO joke, my cousin has a farm and he was clearing some land to plant some more blueberry's, and he dug up a passel of rattlers. Somehow word got out and the state came in and told him he could not destroy their habitat.
Coyotes. They'll eat your dog; they'll eat your cat.
They're not picky.
Police say the coyotes recently killed an 8-month-old bichon frise that lived a few houses away from the Murray's. They're now telling residents to keep their children and their pets indoors."It's frightening in that we shouldn't have to worry about the safety of our children in our own backyard," she says. "It should not be, so hopefully something will be done about it."
Shoot them. No way people should be terrorized and forced to stay indoors over a pack of coyotes. IF they don't take action soon, it's just going to be a matter of time before some poor toddler is torn to pieces.
