Combination of next new iPod and fabled iPhone. Looks nice, but too big. Apple has been leading the way in UI design lately but this thing is just too big.

UI design and physical design are two different things.
And it's barely bigger than a person's grip. It's fine.

160 pixels per inch.
You can watch TV shows on it.
Look at photos on it.
Sync to your computer.
Surf the net.
E-mail.

CNBC has been carrying some of MacWorld.
The phone is BEAUTIFUL. Great industrial design. No buttons and great graphics. Thin and transluscent.
I understand it was delayed (as long a 2 years) due to Apple trying to get a really robust phone into what is basically an iPod.

I am totally stunned. I am sick and tired of crappy "smartphones" that aren't so smart or easy to use.
As soon as we find out availability, I'm buying two of these.

Now THAT is a sexy phone.

Put your thumb and index finger ON THE SCREEN and pinch them together to make the image smaller - spread them apart to make it bigger.
How cool is that?

but this thing is just too big. That's too big? Phones have been getting so small lately that it seems to be small for the sake of small, ending up being far too small. I am uncomfortable using most of the cell phones made today -- my hand didn't get smaller, and neither did the distance between my ear and my mouth. This is the epitome of an ergonomic cell phone for its time, but it could use a modern re-interpretation due to advanced tech, maybe a bit slimmer, full screen underneath the slide, cool UI:

I want one that will track my kids via GPS no matter where they are and without then knowing it ;)

It's a video iPod, a cell phone, an internet communicator.. It runs OS X, Safari, and other applications.
MULTI-TOUCH... This is amazing. I could easily see this being 600-800 bucks.

Apparently it has GPS on board - it knows where you are.
You can have it find a Restaurant nearby.

If it doesn't have a QWERTY keyboard (on the touch screen or buttons), then I have no use for it as an e-mail device. Trying to "type" on a numeric phone keypad drives me insane.

Looks cool. Also looks like a facial grease mirror.

The specs sound truly awesome!! I'm not a big Apple fan, but the power this phone/communicator device is capable of is mind blowing. Most of today's phones have quite a bit of power that is so tightly controlled by the provider as to cripple them. Hopefully, with Apple entering the fray with a powerful (and damned sexy) device they can liberate the entire cell phone market to more powerful devices that let the users control the content on the device and it doesn't all have to come through their cell provider.
