I thought they ruled him down at the 1 1/2, because it looked like the ball came out AFTER he was down.

If Carrie Underwood dumps Romo for this, Clay Aiken has volunteered to take her place.

He already is. But there's a difference between one or two guys over a long career and half a dozen guys all at the same time. The Jones legacy is get in all the trouble you want off the field, win a Superbowl and all will be forgiven, and the ditching of Quincy Carter just proved it.

You're just going to have to face reality, Jones took one of the most respected sports franchises in the country and turned it into a trash heap. And there are a lot of people in the country who liked the Cowboys before Jones and hate them now entirely because of Jones, what he's done, who he's hired, who he's fired and who he's been. When he goes away I'll reconsider, until then I'll chortle at every loss knowing that it happened to a team owned by a person that deserved the loss.

re. the 'greasy' ball .... I went to a Cowboys message board, and yep, it's becoming a topic of concern there. But a knowledgable fan posted this, about the difference between 'game' balls and 'kicker' balls:

In an NFL game, if the game is indoors in a dome, the referee crews use twenty-four regular NFL balls and twelve k-balls for kicking and punting only. They enforced these special balls due to abuse of the regular balls like rubbing down the balls, even putting them in a microwave and too many touchbacks. The k-balls were enforced in 1999 to have more returns and fewer touchbacks and field goals that were high using the regular balls are down by in-between 40-45%. The kickers and punters are doing their best to get rid of the balls saying they are slippery, soft, there have been more fumbles since the k-balls were introduced, and teams lost games (whether crucial, regular, play-offs, and Super Bowl games) remember the Giants-49ers game where the 49ers led by a point and the long-snapper snapped the ball over the holder-punter's head and he had to throw it and got an interception back in the 2003 play-offs. The same balls with twelve are used for outdoor games but instead of twenty-four regular NFL balls, they use thirty-six balls instead. The k-balls are shipped in a box and aren't used until game time.

Romo wrapping up at the mic now. He's taking full responsibility for the loss, and is in tears. He's probably the only one I feel bad for in all this.

Perhaps Jeff Garcia will call TO and console him on his poor performance. TO is an Albatross. The Tuna should convince Jones to get rid of him.

Name one current player on the team who is under investigation or under indictment, for any thing other than a traffic violation.

Name one current player on the team who is under investigation by the NFL for substance abuse, roids included.

Yup...staright from nfl.com rulebook:

The home club shall have 36 balls for outdoor games and 24 for indoor games available for testing with a pressure gauge by the referee two hours prior to the starting time of the game to meet with League requirements. Twelve (12) new footballs, sealed in a special box and shipped by the manufacturer, will be opened in the officials’ locker room two hours prior to the starting time of the game. These balls are to be specially marked with the letter "k" and used exclusively for the kicking game.

Good teams find a way to win. I really don't expect our team to make the SB again, but knocking the SYOBWOC SALLAD out of the playoffs is, for me, the equivalent of winning the SB!

Doesn't matter, the drug addicts are part of the legacy of the Jones era, which is exactly what I said. The current team doesn't need drug addicts, they have Parcells (the sleazebag coach who bailed on his team while still under contract, couldn't even be bothered to fly back from the Superbowl with them, the sleazebag coach whose assistant thinks he tanked the gameplan for the Superbowl), and TO (the most all around scummy annoying giant POS player in the league today). No need for drug addicts to ruin the rep of the team anymore when they have two of the sleaziest people drawing paychecks in the league today wearing the logo.

Yeah, like she'll be there. William Hung will be there to comfort him.

AGREED!!!!!! T.O. has got to go. That cancer has no business being on ANYONE'S roster now!!!!!!!
In all seriousness, Romo owning up to the mistakes at the end shows alot about him. I don't think there is an doubt who is the Cowboys starting QB in '07.

Lost in all the talk is the fumble that caused the safety and allowed Seattle to take the lead with a TD instead of just tying it. More than one Cowboy blew the chance to win.
