Dig it: The 1970's are calling...pick up the phone and groove on the memories. When was the last time the Democrats ran the House and the Senate? When was the last time the Conservatives wondered what became of the GOP? When was the last time people craved an "energy policy"? When was the last time the word TAXATION was used in the same sentence as inevitable? When was the last time people considered Ford and Carter as Presidents? When was the last time Iran seriously threatened the USA? When was the last time AM radio ruled the airwaves? When was the last time music was as purposely bad as today? Dynamite! You remember the last time was the 1970s.
Trip out and go back in time to AM radio, a pick in your afro, corn rows platform shoes, bell bottoms, silk shirts, short shorts, large neck chains, mood rings, disco music, rollerskating mania, teen idols, Farrah Fawsett, the Brady Bunch, the misery index, high inflation, price controls, SALT, Annie Hall, and invention of the personal computer. Come join the fun--

Fernwood 2Night! With Barth Gimble, Jerry Hubbard, and Happy Kyne and the Mirthmakers.
Did you hear about the raisin who cheated on his wife?
It was in the newspaper, in the current affairs section.
My all time favorite band. Mixing in Muddy Waters and old Blues music into the cd changer now, it's really obvious how bluesy their early stuff was.
Sully,
In 1988 a group of 5 old 70's rockers formed The Travelling Wilburys.
One was Tom Petty. One was Roy Orbison. One was George Harrison.
Who the heck were the other two? I'm drawing a complete blank (plus I've got 10 bucks riding on it)
Somebody help me out here.
I was not allowed to watch Fernwood or Mary Hartman. My parents thought it was inappropriate adult entertainment. And they were hesitant to allow me to stay up for SNL.
However, they were happy to let me watch Monty Python on Channel 13 because it was publicTV (Sesame Street/Electric Company/Nova). It was too late when they realized that Monty Python regularly showed full frontal nudity.
NUKE!
You know damn well that that car is way ahead of your time....
Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, and Jeff Lynne (former leader of ELO and producer)
